Sylvie Tellier: “I did not agree with the rule change”

A few days before the next Miss France election, the former director of the pageant returns to the parisian on the reasons for her departure and on the relaxation of the rules for female candidates.

It’s no secret that Sylvie Tellier and Alexia Laroche-Joubert have differences on what the Miss France competition should look like.

The former head of the pageant, which has corralled future beauty queens for 15 years, will host her final Miss France election soiree in Châteauroux on Saturday. She returns this Wednesday morning in an interview with Parisian about his departure, and about the changes in the rules of the contest, which now welcomes candidates without age limits, mothers and tattoos.

“I didn’t agree with the rule change,” he says bluntly. Sylvie Tellier has already commented on the difficulty of being a mother and of participating in the contest, and on the fact that, according to her, the French were not prepared for transgender candidates.

“I will not judge the new rules. Any change is good. You go and shut up,” he adds.

“I made many sacrifices”

On the choice of Cindy Fabre, who succeeds her as general manager of the Miss France company, Sylvie Tellier indicates that she did not participate at all.

“This choice is entirely Alexia Laroche-Joubert’s and I did not participate at all. Alexia knew her because she had produced the program of her choice.”

Despite her disagreements with Alexia Laroche-Joubert, Sylvie Tellier insists: “She is a great television producer. We have things in common: we are two women of character. I spent 17 years of my life working for Miss France, I have spent a lot of time After a week away from my family, I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. And I’m glad Alexia, with her experience in big shows, protects this show.”
