Because AT&T merged with Discovery Communications Earlier this year, the commercial deal had a big impact on Warner Bros. and its HBO Max streaming service. Among the changes were disturbing announcements of many originals completely deleted movies and TV shows from the streaming service, including this week’s news that successful programs like The western world , Martha in the middle of its production in the second season and the inclusive comedy The Chubby Chronicles They have been deleted. We finally have some answers from the company about its plans for the content it’s removing.
According to a press release from HBO Max, Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to move original programming removed from HBO Max to a free, ad-supported third-party streaming television service (FAST) that has yet to be announced. The company clarified that the following shows will go to WBD’s FAST offering at an unspecified date in 2023:
- Westworld – Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4
- Nevers – Season 1
- Raised by Wolves – Seasons 1, 2
- FBOY Island – Seasons 1, 2
- Legendary – Seasons 1, 2, 3
- Finding Magic Mike – Season 1
- Class Leader – Season 1
- The Time Traveler’s Wife – Season 1
Additionally, the following series will also be removed from HBO Max. However, new homes for this series aren’t necessarily intended for WB’s FAST offering and may land elsewhere:
- Chubby Chronicles – Season 1
- Loving Life – Seasons 1, 2
- Made for Love – Seasons 1, 2
- The Garcias – Season 1
- Minx – Seasons 1, 2
These changes are the result of Warner Bros. finding its way out of a $47 billion debt hole. As we previously reported, these HBO Max deals have not only been cancelled, but will be completely removed from viewing on the service. so that the company no longer has to pay the residuals to that part of those movies and shows when watched.
It also follows fans who shocked Warner Bros. Discovery when it pulled the film entirely from DC. bad girl and the Scoob! prequel to never see the light of day even though it was fully filmed. It appears that other titles may disappear as well. As an expert on the subject, said NScreenMedia’s Colin Dixon indiewire among the news that old original content on HBO Max can also be monetized on a FAST service.
That certainly leaves a lot of question marks surrounding the future of HBO Max’s content, including fans who are no doubt getting nervous about their favorite shows leaving the platform. The HBO top ratings harley quinn previously gone viral sharing his thoughts on the possibility of the service canceling the series in particular, telling the company that it “best not get its hands on it.”
If these titles have not yet been removed, they will only be available to stream with a Maximum HBO subscription for a few more days. It’s certainly troubling to see some big-name shows pick up the hatchet and find themselves homeless, but we’ll be watching these developments closely.
