Bob Pinciotti has been a main character throughout the That show from the 70swith the late Tanya Roberts as Donna’s mother Midge alongside her as a series regular for the first three seasons, then as a guest/recurring role in seasons 6 and 7. The first images of Bob’s appearance in that the 90s show include him holding a giant bag of oranges in front of Kitty and speaking into a microphone while wearing a sequined black jacket (which he wears to impress Red) at the birthday party of Kitty and Red’s niece Leia, played by Callie Haverda. Don Stark said returning to the character after nearly 20 years away from Bob “was like riding a bicycle,” adding:
Bob exists in me. As soon as he put on his clothes, wig, sideburns and jewelry, everything fell apart. It was great. He was flawless. There was no way, my Bob accent was gone and it was great. Bob is still the same: he’s well-meaning and has a big heart, but he doesn’t always think things through fully or at all.
Don Stark also mentioned meeting Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, who are series regulars that the 90s show, was a “highlight” of their movie experience, and they were both excited to see him return, and vice versa. Stark also shared how impressed he was with the that the 90s show crew recreating the original That show from the 70s together, saying it was “amazing” and “really brought back a ton of wonderful memories”.
that the 90s show sees Leia Forman visiting her grandparents in the summer of 1995 and making new friends at Point Place. In late April, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mira Kunis, Ashton Kutcher and Wilmer Valderrama were confirmed to reprise their roles from the original series. Then in May, Tommy Chong shared that he’d be back as Leo, and judging by Don Stark’s comment, it looks like all the old characters will be back for the revival. But who knows, if season 2 gets ordered, maybe even familiar faces will stop by Red and Kitty.
