Objective to reassure investors. Aware of the lag of artificial intelligence compared to its competitors, Apple is trying to convince people of its good faith. If the company had to decide to postpone the “new, more personal Siri” presented in June 2024, Tim Cook, the big boss, confirmed the roadmap.
In fact, the AI-powered “Siri 2.0” should make it possible to become a real assistant that will help you, in particular by scanning your current actions or even looking at your emails or messages to respond to you better. Big promises were shown at WWDC 2024, before a Bloomberg investigation revealed that all of this was ultimately just wind and that nothing was ready internally.
A sign of a certain lack of preparation on the part of Apple in matters of AI, the matter led to internal reorganizations. Since then, the company has been particularly silent… until the announcement of its financial results, on the night of October 30-31, 2025.
A launch in 2026… thanks to its competitors?
Tim Cook explained that Apple still plans to offer the new Siri in 2026, but without embarking on a release date. But the company’s boss mainly explained that he was holding talks with some of his competitors to better integrate his chatbot into iOS and macOS devices. Currently, only ChatGPT has the right to such processing: the user can activate OpenAI’s generative AI at any time to refine certain results, safe in the knowledge that their data will remain private. Tomorrow we can therefore imagine an integration with Google’s Gemini, or even Mistral AI’s Le Chat.
Another theory, mentioned by BloombergFor its part, it suggests that the new Siri could be based on several language models (and not just those designed internally), with the aim of reducing the distance that separates Siri from its main competitors. The iPhone, Mac or iPad assistant would thus become an “AI agent”, but always with the same consideration of personal data.
The American economic media also specifies that a release in spring 2026, at the same time as iOS 26.4, would be on the way. A promise that, however, is far from being official, and when we know the chaotic development of this review of an unloved assistant, it is worth taking a few pinches of salt before rejoicing.
