After the “Free Britney” movement and the pop singer’s release from her guardianship, much attention was paid to the singer’s father, Jamie Spears. He was in charge of the advocacy and he was at the center of the consequences, both legally and publicly.
As the pop singer’s father, he was effectively in charge of her finances and had a say in much of what she did. After his release, the patriarch remained essentially silent, apart from the legal maneuvering. Fans haven’t been silent about him, however, nor about Britney Spears herself, who slammed Jamie on social media. This has led many to think of Jamie Spears as the villain of the story, but if that is to be believed, that is not the case at all.
He sat down for an interview this week and described his personal feelings about guardianship. He feels that guardianship of her daughter was necessary and in his conversation with The Daily Mail noted that what has been described about Spears’ situation is “not the truth”.
All I can say is that most people have no idea what the truth is. His lawyer has no idea of the truth. The media didn’t hear the truth. They heard Britney’s accusations. I don’t mind taking this beating because I know it’s not true and because I don’t want to start anything else. Which my daughter ended up going deeper into the hole than she had gone.
Much of the fans perspective on Jamie Spears as a villain comes from various documentaries and comes from Spears herself on social media. Since gaining access to her own social media, the singer has been sharing regularly how terrible her life was under her guardianship, led by her father. She would not be allowed to drink wine, drive, use ATMs, etc.
Spears’ father didn’t address those specific restrictions, but did speak more generally about how she needed to be “protected” by further regulating her life. In fact, he went so far as to say that he doesn’t know if she would be alive if it weren’t for a court that stepped in and gave her power of attorney.
Not everyone will agree with me. It was a crazy time. But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. Where would Britney be right now without this tutelage? And I don’t know if she would be alive. The no. To protect her and the children, guardianship was an excellent tool. Without it, I don’t think I would have gotten the kids back.
Jamie Spears hasn’t said much about her former guardianship, but she has done it before fight an indictment from Spears’ legal team . He said that during his guardianship, the pop singer’s bedroom was not “closed off,” among other things. allegations Britney Spears made about her family These past few months. It is not clear if she will give more interviews or if she is already finished speaking.
Meanwhile, Jamie Spears is back in Louisiana, where she shares a house with Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn. The relationship between the two sisters has also been strained in recent years, although recently Britney apparently threw an olive branch while she wrote a birthday message for her estranged sister. While that could be something, Spears still noted, “The family is a mess.”
Expect to hear more in the months and years to come as the legal fallout continues, and most likely, Britney continues to share her thoughts on what happened and how she’s lived for so many years.
