Nicknames from your friends and colleagues can become the kind of jokes that create funny and fond memories. Actor Gregory Mann can attest to this, since his work in new movie release Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro gave the young actor quite a backstory when it came to the Oscar-winning director. It’s actually very stressful, because I’m a bit scared. If he calls me “idiot” at first, then I know I can call him that, because whenever I see him, it’s obviously a long time between film festivals. But then the actual filming had been wrapped up for some time. So first I have to make sure he calls me an idiot, because if I call Guillermo del Toro an idiot and he forgets the line, then I’m in trouble.
Imagining a scenario where you accidentally call Guillermo del Toro a fool when he’s unaware of the joke sounds absolutely like a recipe for anxiety.
