High school fans were caught off guard on September 6, when the host Jesse Palmer interrupted the last few minutes of our viewing of the Fantasy Suite to warn viewers of the “insane controversy” in preparation in the next two weeks. Bachelor Nation fans are used to the show’s hyperbolic promises, so I don’t think I was the only one to roll my eyes when Palmer said Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s ending would be “the most shocking ending of all. times”.
Ultimately though, there’s a lot to back up the host’s claims, so let’s take a look at three issues that are likely to be discussed in High school End of season 19.
Erich Schwer apologizes after the Blackface photos surfaced
After shocking eliminations of Johnny DePhillipo and Jason Alabaster during Fantasy Suites, Erich Schwer was Gabby Windey’s last man standing. If we thought these two would sail stress-free to the end, we were definitely wrong. Bachelor Nation has already rushed to supporting Schwer after his father’s death , but the tone changed when photos from her high school yearbook resurfaced. Schwer was photographed in blackface, dressed by Jimi Hendrix. The acquisitions analyst has since apologized for instagram :
I sincerely apologize for my numb photo in Blackface from my high school album that made the rounds. What at the time I thought was a representation of my love for Jimi Hendrix was nothing more than ignorance. I have been naive about the harmful implications of my actions for the black community and my loved ones, and I will always regret my abusive and harmful behavior. I am deeply ashamed of my actions and understand that my apologies are only the first step towards taking responsibility.
The franchise has faced similar situations in the past, including photos of Rachael Kirkconnell at a plantation-themed party during the Matt James season The single person Yes Garrett Yrigoyen’s controversial social media activity which was addressed during Becca Kufrin’s season High school. As in these cases, Erich Schwer will likely be asked about this at some point in the next two episodes.
We’re now entering real spoiler territory, so if you don’t want to know which of Rachel Recchia’s last three comes to the end, turn around now!
Rachel Recchia would have already separated from her boyfriend
It was reported earlier this season that of his last three Aven Jones, Tino Franco and Zach Shallcross, Rachel Recchia got engaged to Franco as the winner of the First Impression Rose . However, it’s been four months since filming for season 19 wrapped in May and things are said to have gotten worse since then. Reality Steve reported in his blog on September 7:
Rachel broke up with Tino and they are no longer engaged. Again, I know you will have questions, but other than “something happened and they stopped talking after the engagement”, I don’t know any more specific details. But they are separate and there will be no reconciliation whatsoever in the [After the Final Rose] from everything I’ve heard. It’s over.
We will have to wait for a confirmation and a full explanation from Rachel Recchia and Tino Franco on their relationship status, but if it is true, Jesse Palmer will surely give them the floor to discuss what happened.
Why did Zach Shallcross accuse Rachel Recchia of not being authentic?
When Jesse Palmer interrupted the final minutes of the final episode, viewers thought they were about to see Rachel Recchia and Zach Shallcross talk about their Fantasy Suite date. Shallcross had told Jesse Palmer that the bachelorette party had completely changed once the cameras were gone, calling it fake and saying she was obsessed with her age, even though she was only a few months younger.
These are not accusations to be taken lightly, especially if aimed at the protagonist of the series. Hopefully, the two-part ending will not only give us the rest of their conversation, but also give us more details on what brought Zach Shallcross into such a cycle and a chance for Rachel Recchia to fight back.
Bachelor Nation fans may have hesitated to believe Jesse Palmer’s claims that season 19 will be “the most exciting finale in Bachelorette history,” but if he takes the time to address all these issues, High school it might actually have more than enough drama to fill its four-hour finale. Part 1 is scheduled for 8pm ET on Tuesday, September 13 on ABC, part 2 will follow at 8pm. TV program 2022 to see which versions will arrive soon.
