As the year draws to a close, Netflix continues to release great content. Last week, the service launched the new title. the recruit, a spy drama series starring Noah Centineo. The show has received mostly positive reviews from critics, with viewership scores rising on some aggregation sites as well. This past weekend, the show even reached the top of Top 10 streamers . Naturally, Twitter can serve as an important indicator of viewer engagement, and unsurprisingly, fans have taken to the platform to share their honest thoughts on the freshman series.
If the company hasn’t already, Netflix will likely be happy to hear that a significant number of Twitter posts were targeted the recruit they are positively biased. It must come as a relief to those involved in the production because when something doesn’t resonate with the audience, they don’t hesitate to share negative feelings. But check out the positive sentiment shared by this user:

The show, conceived by Chateau Yes The noob Producer Alexi Hawley focuses on Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo), a new CIA lawyer. The well-meaning young man’s professional life accelerates quickly when he meets an asset who wants to be released from the agency. Subsequently, he finds himself involved in a crazy adventure that forces him to make difficult decisions. From what we can see, few people have significant problems with the general premise. However, one user asked about the driver:
I want to know how they trusted this 24 year old to handle this level of stuff in his first few weeks on the job 😭 #TheRecruitDecember 18, 2022
It’s a good question, but the decision to tell stories doesn’t seem to have fazed many people. And something that doesn’t seem up for debate at this point is Noah Centineo’s performance. The actor has since been in a relationship with Netflix for several years co-starred with Lana Condor in to all the boys trilogy . These films brought Centineo such notoriety that once upon a time, fans tracked his flight and followed him home . The reaction of a fan on Twitter chose to admire the star from a distance:
Noah Centineo looks better as a CIA agent than a high schooler, so thank Netflix for releasing him #TheRecruitDecember 18, 2022

It remains to be seen for whether Netflix will renew the show . the good critical performance and a seemingly steady following would suggest the future is bright. But again, it’s hard to tell what this cancellation-heavy streaming platform has up its sleeve. In the meantime, I imagine fans and the creatives behind the show will revel in the positivity surrounding this inaugural season.
