When speaking with the showrunners, I shared that Severide on Deck felt more like a movie than a network TV show, with Haas noting that StoplightThe team does an award winning job. He said:
I’m so glad you said that! You know what’s crazy? Here’s the thing. There’s an Emmy… for stunts, and he says activists from the Emmys or whatever always go on any cable show. So they say their stunts are better than [ours]. Our stunts are the best on TV, hands down. We do it 22 times a year. She is crazy.
Few cable shows these days have 22 episodes per season, let alone offer movie stunt sequences on a weekly basis like chicago fire.
