After “Top Chef”, chef Thibaut Spiwak invites himself to the new season of “Emily in Paris”

The chef, a former candidate for season 13 of Top Chef, participated in the preparation of the menu for Gabriel’s fictional restaurant (Lucas Bravo) in the new season of the Netflix series.

However, far from being the main plot of the series, food figures prominently in Emily in Paris. After the success of the Moderna bakery since its appearance on the show and a special mention for the McDonald’s Mc Baguette sandwich, it is Gabriel’s restaurant’s turn to be honored in the series.

In previous episodes, this chef played by French actor Lucas Bravo opens his own bistro which he calls Les Deux Compères, but in this new season, Gabriel transforms his establishment into L’Esprit de Gigi: a luxury restaurant, inspired by the cuisine from his Norman grandmother.

And to make this change, Netflix turned to a real French chef, Thibaut Spiwak. former candidate for The best chef In 2022, this young chef, awarded a green star in the Michelin Guide for his Parisian restaurant Anona, created the entire menu for Gabriel’s new fictional establishment.

On Instagram, the 35-year-old chef also detailed the different dishes he envisioned for the series. Thus, we find on the menu revisited Norman specialties such as a flower tart and Pont-l’Evêque mousse with Isigny cream, seafood served with a roasted brioche or an apple candied with candied pepper with honey and pollen compote.

Although appetizing, these dishes are not available on the menu of Thibaut Spiwack’s restaurant, which opened in 2018 and is located on the boulevard des Batignolles in Paris.
