The Weekend Update sketches were always pretty fun when Cecily Strong was included, and it’s even more fun to learn the story behind one of them. While she will surely be missed on the show, it’s nice to live in a time where she and fans can look back on funny moments with the click of a button and have all those memories resurfaced. I can only imagine the kind of stories Cecily Strong has yet to tell!

Cecily Strong’s departure follows several departures from the cast of sl at the beginning of the season. Initially, her future was in doubt after Lei Strong was not seen in the opening credits of season 48, as she was busy performing a show in Los Angeles. While it’s sad to lose her from the long-running NBC show, she’s made a name for herself off it sl good to see Fortunately, the cast of season 48 of sl always strong

There were rumors about Cecily Strong’s departure sl before making it official in December. Between the Los Angeles job and his place in the Schmidadon! Airing on Apple TV+, the future looks bright to her, even if she won’t be live from New York on Saturday night. For me, however, it would have been a little better if he left at the end of the season than in the middle, but at least Austin Butler sang for him in front of millions. So that’s a plus.

sl It’ll be different without Cecily Strong’s outrageous characters appearing in Weekend Update and other sketches, but it should be interesting to see what she comes up with next. Fingers crossed this won’t be the last we see of her on 30 Rock!

sl alumni certainly returned as guests (with Maya Rudolph winning an Emmy for her portrayal of Vice President Kamala Harris) and hosted concerts. Indeed, the old sl actor Martin Short co-hosted with his Only homicides in the building co-star Steve Martin just one week before Cecily Strong’s final episode. Could she be the next student to return as a guest?

Tune into NBC in the new year to find out. The network has yet to announce when sl will return to the 2023 premiere TV schedule, but season 48 is not over yet!
