The DC Extended Universe is known for its wild twists, both in front of and behind the camera. Most recent James Gunn and Peter Safron have been named co-CEOs and have made changes to help create a more cohesive shared universe. The actor who played Darkseid in Zack Snyder’s Justice League recently reacted to these changes, and the Snyder-Verse apparently unrestored .
When the four-hour version of Zack Snyder Justice League was finally released on HBO Max, it featured the villain Darkseid, played by Ray Porter. It was a relatively small but impactful part, which some fans hoped would be expanded upon if the studio ever brought back the Snyder-Verse. But it doesn’t seem like the studio has any plans for it, even with James Gunn Separates from Henry Cavill’s Superman . Porter recently posted a not-so-subtle response to this changing of the guard Chirping as you can see below:
…just grateful. pic.twitter.com/TKjL4gCxSgDecember 15, 2022
To take. With this new direction coming to the DCEU, Ray Porter’s brief tenure as Darkseid may officially come to an end. James Gunn and Peter Safran have a very specific vision for how the shared universe will evolve into a cohesive franchise across TV, film, and even video games. We’ll have to see if this super-powerful DC villain ever affects the main timeline.
Ray Porter’s tweet is sure to get the attention of DC fans, who are still reeling from the various upheavals going on within the shared universe. Some fans have been campaigning for years to finally see Warner Bros. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, raising lots of money for charity. And once Zack Snyder’s Justice League was finally released, a new campaign for Snyder-Vese it got underway quickly.
Darkseid wasn’t the only character to be included in the Snyder Cut after being absent from the 2017 theatrical cut. Indeed, the titular director planted a number of narrative seeds, including introducing Martian Manhunter, The Atom and (obviously) Darkseid’s return to Earth. Unfortunately they don’t look like two Justice League Sequels will happen and not even fans will see the reality of Knightmare come to life.
The news that Henry Cavill would never return as Superman completely shocked the internet, especially since he announced his return and even made an appearance in black adam . But James Gunn and Peter Safran have different plans for the character in the shared universe, and likely will again. And with wonder woman 3 it doesn’t happen anymore Her fans are just as worried about Gal Gadot’s future as Diana Prince.
