Mission: Impossible director responds to rumors about Helming DC’s next Superman movie

2023 will likely be a big year for DC movies. Pom Klementieff had built a solid career in French films, but he wasn’t well known in Hollywood until James Gunn cast him as Mantis in guardians of the galaxy vol. 2. It’s hard not to agree that a DC movie of any kind, or more specifically a Superman movie, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, isn’t an exciting concept. At the same time, it feels long. While James Gunn rarely writes screenplays he hasn’t directed, McQuarrie has never directed anything he hasn’t written. It seems unlikely that he would be interested in directing Gunn’s Superman script.

And certainly, while McQuarrie might be interested in another DC project, he’s pretty much in the weeds of all things. There are many questions about the future of DC Films.
