Despite the growing success of the Netflix series, it was canceled after two seasons for not making the Top 10 on the weekly Nielsen streaming chart and only being in the Netflix Top 10 for one week. It was a crushing blow for a show that Netflix subscribers and the teenagers of the current generation may have grown up.
better things
It’s rare to find a good dramedy about a single mother raising her children alone. effect better things gave us this with King of the Hill actress Pamela Adlon and Louis CK as showrunners. Viewers were able to experience a range of emotions with her hilarious yet down-to-earth humor, delivering a picture-perfect feminist series that showcases the strengths of working motherhood. This Peabody Award-winning series currently has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and our review calls it a frank and playful look at femininity . Unfortunately, the fifth season of the show was its last and concluded in April. On the bright side, Adlon said Term that the show will be an end “for now”. Fingers crossed that the show finds a way to resurface on another network if possible.
the big leap
Another old school TV series that was blessed with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes was The big leap. With a certain famous actors love you bad coyoteby Piper Perabo e CongratulationsScott Foley by Scott Foley, this musical was about down-on-his-luck characters who enter a reality dance competition with the potential to dramatically change their lives. This series may have made critics and audiences happy but it has dropped down the list of Top TV Shows Cancelled as announced in March as it is Netflix’s lowest rated series in the 2020-2021 season.
Expansion
A series that gets revived twice can mean twice the hope… as well as twice the disappointment experienced by fans. This is what happened to Syfy Expansion, based on the science fiction book series by James SA Corey on the verge of war between Earth and Mars in the future. When Alcon Entertainment first canceled the series after three seasons, fans were outraged and try to save the show with over 10,000 signatures for an online petition. Fortunately, the series with a 94% rating was saved from deletion by amazon , and continued for three more seasons. But the future of Expansion this was evident when its final season received a six-episode run. Although the sixth season is officially considered the show’s last, the show’s writer saw the move as a “hiatus”. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
kindled
large surfaceAmerica Ferrera headlined a Netflix series in February 2020 that earned high critical ratings but only survived two seasons. Drama kindled it was about three Mexican-American cousins fighting for the American Dream. You have faced heavy issues of family separation, border laws and gentrification. It doesn’t seem logical why this groundbreaking show that scored 92% in its first season and 100% in its second season would be drawn to Netflix. Maybe he struggled to find his audience. Whatever the reason, audiences can always be grateful to have two seasons of this hard-hitting show to watch with their Netflix membership.
made for love
While other shows this year that got the hatchet could still be watched on their respective subscriptions, made for love it’s an example of a show that was not just cancelled, but buried. The sci-fi dark comedy book adaptation series is about a woman who escapes a decade-long marriage to her billionaire tech husband, only to find that she has planted a chip in her brain to watch her every move. It has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and critics love the performances of Cristin Milioti and Ray Romano. Due to the Warner Bros./Discovery merger, not only that made for love canceled, but removed from HBO Max this month. That should make audiences who watched this short-lived show thankful they got a chance to watch it when they did.
raise Dione
A great superhero show that isn’t based on Marvel or DC Comics. has been Raising Dion. This Netflix series that scored 91% on Rotten Tomatoes was about a 10-year-old boy who gained superhuman abilities like teleportation and radiant energy. Michael B. Jordan was the show’s executive producer and played the title character’s deceased father. Just when you thought this Netflix Top 10 series had potential for more, the two-season show was canceled in April.
