She is at the top of this ranking for the twelfth time, despite a media absence and the end of her musical career. Only Commander Cousteau and Abbé Pierre have done better.
The podium of this ranking remains the same as last year. Thus, Thomas Pesquet ranks second. “In a bleak context, he embodies the face of France that is doing well. He is not in nostalgia, but in the future ”, explains Frédéric Dabi, general director of Opinion at Ifop. The astronaut is placed just ahead of actor Omar Sy, who maintains his third place.
“I imagine I embody adventure, exploration,” Thomas Pesquet told JDD.
underrepresented women
This year again, women are very poorly represented in the ranking of the favorite personalities of the French: only 15 rise to the Top 50. The previous edition, in 2021, the ranking had been separated between women and men with two Top 25.
In 2022, the best-placed woman in the ranking is Florence Foresti, who only reaches 20th position. Similarly, Sophie Marceau, favorite woman in the ranking of the last three awards, emerges in a discreet 28th position.
as pointed out JDD, the constitution of the list of personalities proposed to the respondents is however perfectly balanced with 53 women and 53 men. Ifop also explains that women themselves vote more for male personalities.

The World Cup obliges, several figures from the French team are present in this classification. Blues star Kylian Mbappé is even on the podium, while Olivier Giroud is 9th, Antoine Griezmann 11th and captain Hugo Lloris 18th.
The 2022 edition of the ranking of the favorite personalities of the French also gets new faces with entries, for example, of Orelsan at 36th, of Audrey Fleurot at 39th or even the sensational Grand Corps Malade who goes straight into the Top 10. with the 8. site.
The survey was carried out by Ifop for the JDD from December 12 to 14, 2022 with a sample of 1005 people representative of the French population aged 15 and over.
