Rap confirms its status as the most popular music in France. The Snep (the national union of phonographic publishing) unveils this Friday the list of the 200 best-selling albums in France in 2022, and seven of the Top 10 places are occupied by rappers. Civilization d’Orelsan ranks first, with 406,837 sales and equivalent.
Three quarters of French albums
Ninho follows him in second position, with almost half of the copies sold (283,242 sales and equivalent to his jeff). Gasoline (KMT), Jul (Alien), Lomepal (wrong order) Valdo (V) and Tiakola (melo) occupy positions 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 respectively.
Francophone pop is represented by Stromae and his album Crewthird with 242,224 sales and equivalent, Angèle, sixth thanks to Ninety-fiveand Clara Luciani, who convinced 156,531 buyers thanks to the album hearts, which gives him tenth place. These last two are the only women in an 80% male Top 10.
