Stop reading this now if you haven’t recovered yet king of Tussa, which just released its inaugural season finale. There are major events that happen in the episode, one of which points a direction for season 2, no question.
During king of Tussa Season 1, which was accessible to anyone who had a subscription to Paramount+ ATF Agent Stacy (Andrea Savage) has gotten too close, personally, to notorious crime boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi, played by Sylvester Stallone (do the best work of your career ). Even when Stacy learned that Manfredi was a criminal, she continued to conspire with him, feeding him valuable information about rival gang leader Caolan Waltrip (Ritchie Coster) so Dwight could keep an edge. Only they took Stacy. The ATF found out that she was having an affair with Dwight and threatened to end her career… unless she helped them.
Episode 8 of king of Tussa it ended in a shootout, with Stacy firing bullets at Waltrip to save Dwight’s life. In doing so, she has exposed her ties to Manfredi, but has also earned the respect of Dwight, a man of honor who pays his debts. While Stacy recovered in a hospital bed during the show’s season finale, Dwight sent the agent a zip disk via a Get Well Soon card. In the zip drive? $1 million in an offshore account. A “thank you” for saving the life of the mafia.
Only the zip drive ended up saving Stacy’s life. Because when her bosses at the ATF pressured Stacy to abandon Dwight, she flashed the flash drive…and the night Dwight opened his new bar and casino, the feds arrested him for attempted bribery by of an agent. The program with Dwight Manfredi’s release from prison after a 25-year stint ended with the gangster’s return to the club. And Stacy is the one who helped put it there.
Andrea Savage has been terrific all season as Stacy, a conflicted law enforcement officer who is dealing with her own issues who gets whistleblowers in trouble and even breaks the rules to help keep Dwight out of the spotlight. Her performances, as well as those of the rest of the cast they were a big part of why king of Tussa set viewing records for streaming service Paramount+ . So when we told her about Stacy’s actions in the season finale, I thought she might think Stacy was sorry for selling out Dwight to the authorities. Ultimately, Savage thinks the character was justified in making that decision and going against the crime boss who had been a strange associate once he arrived in Tulsa. Sauvage told us:
I think Stacy realizes that even though they had a connection (with Dwight), she begged him not to do certain things and back off, because it would really affect her. And she basically ignored her and made it worse. (He) just did what was right for Dwight, and she didn’t consider it at all. And I think she understood, ‘Well, I guess that’s how I have to live too.’ It was her only way out. And I think she’s like, ‘Look, we have a connection, but you fucked me. And then I have to do what I have to do now. I owe you nothing.
Wild is right. for too many king of Tussa Season 1 saw his ATF character make decisions that benefit others, from Dwight (Sylvester Stallone) to his informant, Roxy (Emily Davis). However, that didn’t work out for Roxy, which probably led to Stacy realizing that she needed to be a little selfish and take care of herself… even if it meant making some enemies with Dwight.
Savage later explained Stacy’s betrayal of Dwight:
I think he’s waking up and saying, ‘Look, maybe I made some mistakes. But now I’m here. And if that changed, maybe I wouldn’t be here. She is also an alcoholic. In fact, she doesn’t always make the smartest decisions. She hangs on and survives.
As we predicted, Stacy was one of the main characters survived the king of Tussa end of the season. That means he’ll be back for a second season, though we don’t have any details on when the series might return. the reviews of king of Tussa were in favor and Despite what Sylvester Stallone thinks a yellow stone crossover somewhere along the way would be like an Avengers movie for Taylor Sheridan fans.
