This is the long-awaited book that makes the British monarchy tremble. this tuesday will come out alternate (Fayard editions) in which Prince Harry reveals his truths four months after the coronation of King Carlos III. Two days before its official release, BFMTV obtained a copy of the book and reveals several previously unpublished excerpts here.
Various other extracts from Substitute have already been leaked to the international press. Prince Harry recounts in his book in particular having experienced a violent altercation with his brother William in London in 2019 or how his brother and his wife Kate encouraged him, when he was 20, to dress up as a Nazi during a costume party.
• About Diana’s death
25 years after his mother’s death, the wound lives on for Prince Harry. He emotionally recounts in his book the day he was able to access Diana’s accident file. “I had never dared to think that, like mad dogs, they too had feasted on his helpless body. This land was a camera flash,” Harry wrote.
The Prince reveals that he even walked several times through Alma’s tunnel in Paris one night. At that moment united, the two brothers wanted to relaunch the investigations.
“Willy and I agreed. (…) We were going to publish a statement, together requesting the reopening of the investigation. (…) The high authorities dissuaded us from doing so,” he says.
• His relationships with William and Charles
Outside the system, Harry sees his every move scrutinized by the British press…and his father will never deny the tabloids’ accusations. A deliberate choice by Charles? That’s what Harry means.
“The advisor (of Charles, editor’s note) saw an unexpected opportunity (…) for dad: from now on he would no longer be, in the eyes of the world, the unfaithful husband, but the poor single father, helpless before his offspring drugged to the core.”
Harry also targets Charles, who would have thwarted his charitable plans. “I was wondering what was going on. And then I got it: sibling rivalry. I was horrified. So it was still there? Heir vs. Surrogate?”

Despite an explosive book that reveals the hidden side of the royal family and, at times, recounts in great detail his conversations with his brother William, Harry has been saying for several weeks that he wants to reconnect with his family.
Once again this Sunday he explained that he had “no harmful intention” to “harm” his father or his brother.
“Nothing I have done in this book or otherwise was done with the intention of harming or hurting them,” he said in an interview with Britain’s ITV channel, according to the words reported by news from heaven.
