The Blackpink, K-Pop stars, on the poster for the yellow pieces gala

The South Korean girl band is on the program for the Yellow Pieces Gala, a concert in support of the operation, along with other international artists.

Blackpink is one of the artists announced for the first edition of Yellow Pieces Gala, a 0 concert in support of the annual operation of the same name, on January 28 at the Zenith in Paris.

As fans pointed out on Twitter, the quartet is supposed to perform in Abu Dhabi that night as part of their world tour. Therefore, it is possible that Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa’s performance is pre-recorded. The four singers will share the bill with prestigious international artists: a France 2 press release announces performances by Mika and Pharrell Williams. On the French pop side, Pascal Obispo and Vianney will also take part in the concert.

34 years of yellow coins

Finally, this eclectic program is completed with classical music with the cellist Gautier Capuçon, the pianist Khatia Buniatishvili and the young Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich. All will be “accompanied by a symphony orchestra created especially for the occasion”, as specified in the press release, which announces “unexpected collaborations”.

Launched in 1989, the Yellow Pieces operation aims to raise money to benefit the Hospital Foundation, in order to improve the conditions of hospitalized children and adolescents. Everyone is called to make donations, either by accumulating yellow coins in the famous cardboard piggy bank (abandoned last year, it’s back this year) or through various online means. The 2023 vintage starts this Wednesday and will end on February 4.

They were the subject of a Netflix documentary, Blackpink: light up the skylaunched in October 2020, and have become figures in the fashion world by serving as ambassadors for luxury brands.
