Chicago Police concluded the first half of season 10 with the Intelligence Unit finally getting what it needed to put Sean O’Neal (played by yellow stone‘s Jefferson White) behind bars and rescue the girls he had captured. Although Sean was shot in the head at the end of the winter finale, he survived his injuries and it was confirmed by showrunner Gwen Sigan that he would return because his story is not quite finished yet . Sigan also opened up about how the actor inspired some of what made Sean so scary in season 10.
fan of yellow stone which also connect Chicago Police can attest to Jefferson White’s versatility, as playing Jimmy on the Paramount show certainly didn’t include cult vibes like what White brings to NBC’s hit crime drama, and the same will likely be true when Jimmy moves forward. . a yellow stone this is 6666 divided . When Gossipify spoke with PS boss Gwen Sigan, shared how the actor shaped Sean O’Neal, saying:
With Jefferson playing, we knew Sean was going to be the bad guy for the first half of the season, so we knew he was going to be pretty involved. We knew his relationship with Upton would be central to the story. But every time we’ve done an episode and seen what Jefferson did with it, he just inspired different elements. He has become that character. I feel Jefferson has instilled this cult leader [persona]. There’s something so compelling about the way she’s played him, and we’ve definitely started writing a lot about him.
Sean O’Neal’s character in the role was originally different before Jefferson White brought his own acting undertones. He certainly struck a balance between playing a creepy villain and convincing almost everyone except Upton that he was just a no-nonsense kid with a slightly troubled past who wanted to get the kids back on track in Chicago.
With upton exception , everyone seemed to believe from the start that his troubled past didn’t go beyond drug addiction. That certainly wasn’t the case after he got the rest of the unit involved in the investigation, e she and Burgess found evidence who finally opened the case. Sean didn’t make it easy for Upton (who was already having a tough season) due to Halstead’s departure ). Gwen Sigan then explained what Jefferson White brought to the table as Sean:
This idea that he could see through Upton and he believed that he could see through people and could determine whether or not they could be saved. He gave this. The actor brought that, and he’s very, very good at improvising and very instinctive, so there were always surprises that we found and then we used them and wrote them.
It should be interesting to see how different (or not different) Sean is when Jefferson White returns Chicago Police Winter holidays 2023. . It is possible that his father’s death also had a large impact; After all, Chief O’Neal committed suicide after shooting Sean.
Then again, Sean hasn’t shown much conscience, and fans can only wait and see what Jefferson White will bring to One Chicago in the new year. If you want to relive their first appearances, you can stream them with a Peacock Premium Subscription . (yellow stone also available in Peacock with Jimmy by Jefferson White).
new episodes of Chicago Police will continue to air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. The showrunner previously considered whether viewers could see more dynamic Upton/Burgess although the first episode of 2023 focused about Torres and the line he had to cross with Ruzek. Be sure to stay tuned for the sequel, including the episode that former star Jesse Lee Soffer returns to PS carry out.
