Blue blood there are many great scenes, but the ones that have long been synonymous with the CBS series are the family dinners. Because it’s hard to get everything Blue blood Simultaneously screened on set, these scenes also hold special meaning for the cast. With that in mind, it’s no big surprise that there’s so much fascination surrounding the dinner scenes among fans, but I was surprised to recently learn a new detail about them involving none other than lead man Donnie Wahlberg.
The star, who plays Detective Danny Reagan on the veteran drama (and may soon be starring in CBS crime shows), is apparently the only person during the dinner scenes who actually eats his food. According to an interview the actor did with television insider , most of the time he’s the only person eating on the hot tray. There’s a fun reason for that, too.
Danny probably eats more because Donnie is the hungriest. Seriously, Danny is kind of a bull in a china shop. The best way to play it at dinner is to talk a lot with your mouth full.
Since we know these scenes can take 6-8 hours to shoot, I am very impressed with Mr. Wahlberg’s commitment to on-screen eating. As Donnie Wahlberg has pointed out, this is honestly the easiest way to play Danny, although I’m not sure if his belly always agrees. That said, long hours can lead to trouble while filming, and Vanessa Ray also noted that there’s a certain end of the table that can’t keep things straight when the whole cast gets together.
I won’t name names, but historically there is a certain end of the table that gets the church laughing around hour 2 of filming the dinner scenes… I may or may not be at that end of the table. (I’m definitely on this side of the table.)
It’s not the first time I’ve learned a burning fact about Blue blood dinner scenes The show originally used real crockery for the scenes, but it turns out metal is a bit loud and studio mics required a lot. Then, somewhere along the way, the The CBS drama has ditched the real silverware . And he’s much calmer on set now (though apparently the scenes still take a long time to set up).
Blue blood its thirteenth season is currently airing TV show with new episodes arriving on CBS Friday nights at 8 p.m. ET, or they can be streamed with a Paramount Plus subscription. Another show vet Tom Selleck recently explained why the series has been so successful. for so long, and while we have no idea how long CBS will choose to keep the renewals on the table, it looks like the cast is still having a blast shooting season 13 together.
