The new king of Great Britain faces a problem with the pen. Under the eye of the cameras, Carlos III lived a scene of ordinary life.
Visiting Northern Ireland on Tuesday as part of his tour of the nations of the United Kingdom and accompanied by the queen consort, Camillia, he met with political leaders there.
When he was about to sign a paper, the new sovereign made a mistake on today’s date. “I just have to put… Is it September 12?” he asks one of the councilors around him. “The 13th, sir,” replies one of them.
“That Damn Thing”
His pen begins to lose ink and the king begins to curse, “My God, I hate that.” His wife Camilia takes his fingers when the sovereign gets up, slides him “oh look, he goes everywhere.”
While around him we are busy resolving the incident quickly, Charles gets angry: “I can’t stand this damn thing,” he says. “That’s what they do every time.”
The sovereign seems to lose patience and leaves the room. Ultimately, it is his wife who is responsible for signing the document, with … another pen.
