Kingstown Mayor co-creator explains how Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen helped shape the show’s big bad

Aidan Gillen has taken part in many dramas regarding the history of modern television. Of Wire a Peaky Blinders to the role Littlefinger is probably best known for in game of Thrones. He is 100% a heavyweight in the world of TV series and has brought his talents to Mayor of Kingtown to play the show’s big bad Milo, and as season 2 kicks off, the show’s co-creator discusses how the actor helped shape the show’s big bad.

Gillen talked about playing “beautiful sociopaths,” as he called his characters in an interview with abc News Australia, in multiple projects throughout his career. Of Wire a game of Thrones Gillen He was part of major television moments, and that continued when he joined Hugh Dillon and Taylor Sheridans’ Paramount+ drama. Mayor of Kingtown. Then, with season 2 kicking off TV show 2023 Dillon told Gossipify how Gillen helped evolve the show’s big crime boss.

I can answer by simply telling the truth. The first season was written before airing. So what’s exciting is that once we cast, and we’ve seen these actors in these roles, it opens up for season two, because now we know who they are, what they look like, how they move through the world. And Aidan is so talented, and still he, able to find humanity and honesty in every moment. From my point of view, and having co-created, and I’m so close, he’s like, “My God, he’s so good,” and you forget you’re watching a performance. And it’s outstanding this year, as we knew.

It’s nice to hear Dillon talk about his amazement at Gillen’s performance. The co-creator had the idea for the series over a decade ago, and I can imagine seeing his vision of Milo portrayed on screen and played by someone like the game of Thrones alum would be a surreal experience. I’m also not surprised that after seeing the actor in Season 1, they were excited that Gillen would help take Milo to new heights in Season 2.

Gillen said in an interview with collider last year we don’t see Milo much in the first season, he’s teased. You’re always scared of him because when he’s on screen it’s scary and important. However, after the prison riot in the finale and Milo’s escape, I suspect his character will play a big part in season two.

Like Littlefinger, Milo is likeable, calculated, patient and terrifying. I know when I watched the first season I was even more scared of Gillen’s character in the Paramount + series because of his subtle but terrifying performance as sidekick Petyr Baelish in the best episodes of game of Thrones .

As we enter the second season of Mayor of Kingtown and possibly move on to season 3 , I have a feeling that Milo will become one of the most important parts of the series. I’m sure Gillen will play in a way that makes the crime boss very terrifying despite his calm and calculated demeanor, and very unforgettable.

If you want to see Gillen inside Mayor of Kingtown you can stream new episodes every Sunday and the entire first season with a Paramount+ Subscription you can always come back to see his take on the infamous Littlefinger game of Thrones with a Maximum HBO subscription .
