We are all thrilled to meet our favorite artists and actors and it can be a lot of fun to see celebrities having fan moments too. This rings true for James Wan, who met up with one of his biggest horror influences, Jaime Lee Curtis, over the weekend. You would expect a director who has worked with stars like Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman to be used to meeting other celebrities, but it turns out he was just as excited as we are to meet one of his heroes of him.
Wan and Curtis attended the opening of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights in 2022. The event honors all things horror as the theme park opens up a variety of spooky attractions, including the famous creepy haunted houses. Not only was Wan thrilled to be at such an event for the first time, but he couldn’t wait to take a photo with Curtis, who wore an iconic Halloween T-shirt.
Wan shared the photo on his Instagram where he expressed his love for Curtis’ work and noted how the end of halloween the actress turned to him saying:
Go out with a bunch of awesome horror people and meet the legendary @jamieleecurtis for the first time! Let’s be honest, horror masterpieces are the most beautiful and fun in the business.
I hope these two will soon collaborate on a project together. Wan and Curtis are the mainstays of the horror genre, so a film involving the two would be an instant hit. Curtis became a household name in 1978 starring in John Carpenter’s horror classic. Halloween. She has returned to the franchise multiple times over the years, earning her “Screaming Queen” status. Wan began directing the horror genre Mountain range, InsidiousYes The spell. The director also worked within the DCEU directing the aquatic man film, but returned to horror in 2021 with Evil.
It may take a while for these two horror icons to work together on a film. Wan is currently in post-production aquaman and the lost kingdomand the DC film ended production in January. Curtis has a long list of upcoming projects in his filmography, including Disney. Haunted house. However, there is always a demand for new horror content, so I’m sure a collaboration between these two is definitely on the way. Many fans would certainly accept such a project with open arms.
Meanwhile, Jaime Lee Curtis will reprise the role of Laurie Strode end of halloween. The film will hit theaters and stream to Peacock subscribers on October 14.
