Law & Order: Is SVU about to lose another detective after Rollins?

Spoilers ahead for episode 13 of Law and order: SVU Season 24, entitled “Intersection”.

Law and order: SVU He advances behind the ark he saw Olivia Bensson and his son in their sights, the Manhattan team was heading to the Bronx to solve special victims cases for them, Duarte be killed, ea Challenging time between Benson and Organized crime this is more stable in the end. “Intersection” showed that the captain did not leave anything related to this case, as he still had the record of Velasco cross lines to get information from a prisoner. After this episode, I wonder: it is SVU he’s about to lose another detective in the same season say goodbye to Kelli Giddish AS Amanda Rollin ?

And it all started with Velasco potentially kicking himself to be kicked out of the unit! As fans will remember from the end of dad oscar bow, Velasco he was recorded confessing to a murder to an inmate to try to get him to talk. now him Law The franchise goes a little over 30 years with no cops lying to criminals to try and get information, but Velasco deliberately pulled another detective out of the room before making the confession, having no idea anyone else but him could hear it. . — feels far more inaccurate than anything that happens in an interrogation room with many observers.

Benson didn’t confront Velasco about it in “Intersection,” but instead went to muncy. She and Velasco have bonded throughout the episodes since she joined Special Victims, and she spent several scenes in this episode trying to get her to talk about her grief for Duarte after his murder. Muncy was visibly shocked by what she heard on the recording and Velasco told the attacker:

You know, I grew up like you. I have seen many people being killed. And the moment my balls dropped, my boss put a gun in my hand and blew this guy up. I’ve never told anyone, until now.

Muncy insisted to Benson that Velasco was lying and saying whatever she could think of to try and get the information she needed, but it seemed like she was just as trying to convince herself as her boss. For her part, Benson was NO she persuaded and told Muncy to take a few days off, not answer if he called her, and not say a word to anyone or she would be on patrol on the midnight shift.

Aside from the fact that Benson hasn’t threatened any of the detectives under him lightly, he clearly takes the situation very seriously and proceeds as if Velasco had confessed to the murder. Certain, SVU previously revealed that Velasco had a (to say the least) difficult childhood and raced to lousy crowds; between that and his recorded licks, he sounds like something he was forced into as a young man.

Regardless of the circumstances, Velasco may have no way of sticking around if this confession turns out to be more than just a story to get a prisoner to deliver much-needed dirt to the BX9. Additionally, there are other factors that could indicate that Special Victims have lost another detective.

After Bruno spent several episodes to impress end and then managed to impress Benson in “Intersection”, he was asked to take over Rollins’ old office in the Manhattan Victims Task Force. If he joins full-time and Muncy and Velasco stay, that would mean Benson’s unit would be pretty full. After Muncy was chosen I thought it meant this Molly Burnett replaced Kelli Giddish. If Bruno comes in, does it mean that he will also replace someone when he leaves?

It’s hard to tell at this point, and it’s worth noting that while Velasco hasn’t been around that long, he’s still the lead detective on Special Victims right now. I also liked Muncy and Bruno from the beginning, so I’m not sure I want to see any of the three. Who knows? Maybe Special Victims will expand instead of hiring one detective before writing another. The promo for the next episode sheds no light, though it suggests Ice-T fans will be in for a treat:

After losing Rollins, the last thing Benson needs is another one of his detectives gone. At least it seems safe to say that Fin is going nowhere, from what Ice-T said he didn’t want to go anywhere !
