Black Panther’s Michaela Coel drops an atomic bomb calling Babies Nepo, but also shares a diplomatic thinking

The baby nepo controversy has been raging for some time now, as many seem to have strong opinions about who is related to famous people. The biggest point of contention, in terms of the entertainment industry, revolves around the fact that these people have an edge over other people looking to get into the business. Several people haven’t chewed their weight weighing in on the discussion, and that now includes Michaela Coel. They Black Panther: Wakana Forever Star dropped an atomic bomb while calling out those who profit from nepotism. However, she also went ahead with diplomatic thinking.

Like many Hollywood stars, Michaela Coel had to try hard to reclaim her place in the industry. She certainly has over the years creating acclaimed TV shows like Eraser AND I can destroy you. Of course, she’s also landed roles in the aforementioned Marvel movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi AND for such a long time. Needless to say, Coel has been busy and secretive, and it seems that, as he continues to be, he pretends not to think about nepotism:

Know, [nepotism] it’s there 100%, but I don’t think it’s in a creator’s interest to think too much about it. And it certainly doesn’t benefit me because it just makes me angry.

Nepotism is a concept that has been around for years and is very common in Hollywood. As the Emmy-winning actress said evening norm , it’s still there, so it’s probably best not to dwell on it. And based on how you describe the practice, it’s probably a good thing you’re not too into it. The 35-year-old then chastised the Nepo children who don’t understand the privilege they hold and also explained how their positions affect those who fight for it:

If people don’t believe it [being] Someone’s child, or someone’s niece or nephew, whatever [that relationship may be] , has something to do with his successes, so it’s funny. I find it very funny, it’s a nice way of life for you, keep it up. The rest of us can’t overthink it because it will make us feel defeated. You have to say, like, ‘fuck this system. I’ll find a way to do my own thing,” and you can stand next to these people and find out how you got here.

The children in question had mixed opinions on the matter. daughter of brian williams M3GAN Star Allison Williams gave an honest opinion , in which he fully recognized his status and the optics of himself. Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, did not deny benefits she knew it too. “OG Nepo Baby” Jamie Lee Curtis called the discussion to be offensive, even though he said he is fully aware of the opportunities presented to him. Tom Hanks recently chose his son in his latest film A man named Ottoand defended the decision by noting that the entertainment industry is a “family business.”

There are certainly many nuances to this flowing discussion, and Michaela Coel seems to know that too. During the same interview, she made an honest comment about why her position on the matter might change:

…the other truth is that if I go my own way and have children, I’m sure my opinion will change in some way.

It is likely that she will have children one day and they may want to follow in her famous footsteps when they come of age. Decades from now, if all of this happens, it would be interesting to hear what the British star would have to say about the baby nepo debate at the time. What can be said for sure at this point, however, is that anyone who shares their thoughts on the subject is entitled to their opinions.
