Apparently, Stephen Amell had a request before agreeing to reprise his role as The Arrow for the final season of The Flash.

The CWs the flash is gearing up for a big farewell season, with more than a few major Arrowverse returns announced ahead of the highly anticipated premiere. Among those returning is Stephen Amell, who will reprise his role as Oliver Queen three years later. ArrowThe series finale, although Oliver’s story ended forever in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event. Showrunner Eric Wallace explains how he nailed Amell, that he really did have a request to fulfill.

Eric Wallace gave TV Online the bare minimum of how the process went down to secure Stephen Amell for the final season of the flash. The superhero matchup will reportedly be epic yet thrilling for all involved, which may have played into Amell’s decision to return, though she has his conditions. And Wallace said he immediately agreed with the idea, saying:

It’s a double answer. I called Greg and said, ‘I have a crazy idea. What if Oliver Queen returns…?’, and I explained the story. He said, “I love it, let me call Stephen.” So he called Stephen and then he called me back, ‘Stephen loves it! Talk to him, propose the idea. So I phoned Stephen, and it all happened within 18 hours, mind you, and went with him. He said, ‘I love it. But can we do that extra thing…? ‘Let’s do it! Is fantastic.’ And the call ended with [Amell saying], ‘I’m inside. Let’s make it happen. It happened so fast.

When it was originally announced that Stephen Amell would be returning for the flash, opened up about the Green Arrow reprise and made sure fans knew how happy he was to return in any capacity, even though he obviously couldn’t divulge any details at the time. And if Eric Wallace was that quick to say yes to Amell’s request as the actor was set to sign on for another appearance, it’s sure to be unforgettable. (Particularly the ages that Barry has never screwed up.) Details of his request aren’t shared at this time, but we can only assume they’ll become apparent when the time comes.

Stephen Amell’s return as Oliver Queen I don’t think will undo what happened in the last season of Arrow. It’s unclear exactly how Oliver will return, but Eric Wallace has confirmed it. ArrowThe eight seasons of are still canonically intact. And he went so far as to say that the Amell episode will definitely require Kleenex:

Let’s not change what happened in the eight seasons of Arrow… let’s honor that. There won’t be a dry eye in the house at the end of this episode. It’s extremely exciting.

It’s no surprise to hear that the episode will be emotional, given that Barry and Oliver’s friendship has always been a highlight of the Arrowverse. Stephen Amell has kept Green Arrow close to him ever since the finale aired, even getting a tribute tattoo honoring his hooded vigilante. While it’s a surprise to hear Oliver would return, it makes sense that Amell would be involved in closing down a fictional universe that he helped design, and wouldn’t want it any other way, regardless of how the return happens. . .

Season 9 of the flash It will see the return of many Arrowverse characters, including Reverse-Flash 1.0 and some versions of Eddie Thawne, more likely to be announced in the weeks and months ahead. As the series is the last remaining Arrowverse show, with superman and laws to exist outside of this reality, to bring together as many students as possible just makes sense. they might make sense. It’s also worth noting that David Ramsey will return as John Diggle for the same episode as Amell, which should be another emotional reunion to look forward to.
