Elizabeth and Charles, same style or new way of treating their subjects? Since the accession to the throne of King Carlos III after the death of Isabel, last Thursday after 70 years of reign, the issue has shaken royal specialists.
Sally Osman, former director of communications for the royal family, was the guest this Thursday night on BFMTV.
She, who worked with the two sovereigns, explains that there are “generational differences between Isabel and Carlos.” For her, “one of the main differences is that the queen came to the throne at the age of 25, she was very young. While Carlos comes to the throne at 73, and has a long life of public service.
The former communication director indicates that the new sovereign “has already contributed enormously in his role as Prince of Wales. He has met many people in the Kingdom.”
“The new king will follow the queen, his mother”
However, the new king and his mother have “a certainty, because the mission of the monarchy is constant. I think the new king will follow the queen, his mother,” he explains.
He assures that “he will be himself as he said in his speech. King Carlos is creative and passionate, and he will continue to be as king.”
Regarding the style of Carlos, closer to his subjects with the many images where we see the sovereign going out in front of the crowd, “it is a different approach. There is a different style in each member of the royal family”, he reflects.
“We live in a different world, it’s great to see him so close to his audience because with phones he creates a barrier,” he rejoices.
