Is there a sequel to Bring It On with Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union still planned? Peyton Reed, director of OG, chimes in

It is absurd to think that only a few years ago we celebrated the 20th anniversary of To pursue . More than two decades later, the beloved sports film still resonates with moviegoers as it showcases the true athleticism that comes with cheerleading. It has also addressed issues of inclusion and cultural appropriation. While we’ve had so many direct-to-DVD sequels/spin-offs to the series, some are still clamoring for a true continuation of the original that sees the return of Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union. Now OG franchise manager Peyton Reed has wondered if a To pursue The sequel is still in the works.

The last we saw of Torrance and Isis’ characters, the latter’s team, the Clovers, won its rightful first place in a national cheerleading competition. The Torrance team, the Bulls, won second place and graciously accepted that title. One can’t help but wonder if cheerleaders are still a part of these characters’ lives after 22 years. Well, Peyton Reed hit Eastern Time online for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania premiere, and provided some thoughts that might give fans hope:

We had Kirsten, Gabrielle and Jessica Bendinger, who wrote the original. We got together for the 20th anniversary a few years ago and started talking about it [it]. We had always thought about it. What if there’s a legacy sequel that features the entire original cast? Of course, 20 years later, we’d come to this film from a completely different direction. And Gabrielle has not just ideas, but big ideas. So that’s something that I hope we can continue to discuss. [It] it could happen.

I’d say there’s reason to be optimistic because Gabrielle Union has a great idea for a sequel. She thinks her former Clovers captain would be the mother of a teenager at this point. So could that mean there’s a chance Torrance also has a teenage daughter who happens to be “just a cheerleader” like her mother was? It’s possible, and I’d be totally open to some sort of legacy version. Years ago, Peyton Reed pitched an idea for a sequel, but she had a similar sobering sentiment St. Elmo’s Fire. Personally, I think that if you want a new generation of teens to get attached to this franchise, you have to bring back the sarcastic and straightforward humor that the classic cheerleader movie is known for.

Either way, it looks like the OG cast is ready for more! Gabrielle Union thinks a second film will “absolutely” happen, given the success of the reality series. Happiness – who was very popular with Netflix subscription . Also, too, Kirsten Dunst is absolutely depressed , because he thinks it could be a fun experience. I don’t know about y’all, but I’d love to hear someone say “Brrr…it’s cold in here, there must be some bulls in the air!”

if a new movie, there would probably be changes to some characters. They He thinks like a man the star says she he regrets the way he interpreted it To pursue character , who took a chic approach after learning her school’s applause was being stolen. Peyton Reed, or whichever director ends up tackling the proposed film, would go to great lengths to make sure that Torrance, Isis and co. evolve accordingly.

Hopefully, OG cast members Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union will return should a sequel to Bring it On materialize. Considering there is still so much love for this franchise, the decision not to make another film would seem like a missed opportunity.
