A live-action Spider-Man series is happening on Amazon, and it’s an exciting non-MCU release.

Nowadays, Spider-Man is almost everywhere. Tom Holland, of course, is currently Peter Parker canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Sony Pictures Animation is also expanding the spider worms series this year with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseand Sony’s Spider-Man universe has several ongoing projects, including Kraven the hunter, lady of the webAND the death. That’s already a lot for Spidey fans, but now there’s another exciting new project in the works, like a new live action one. Black Spider-Man The series is in preparation on Amazon and MGM+.

News of this show comes from Variety, who notes that it’s now one of two webhead-related series in the works for Amazon Prime subscribers; the other is Silk: Spider Society (which we first heard about last November). Oren Uziel, whose credits include those of 2018 The Cloverfield Paradox2021 Escape Room: Tournament of Championsand 2022 The lost citywill write and serve as executive producer of the show alongside Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal.

Spider-Man Noir was first introduced to the pages of Marvel Comics with his four-issue limited series in 2009. He is the Peter Parker of Marvel Universe Noir (designated Earth-90214) and the aesthetics of the stories and the world . draws heavily on mid-20th century detective fiction. The Amazon show will mark the first time the character will be portrayed live, but fans will no doubt recognize him Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse where he was played by comic super fan Nicolas Cage. The activity report does not contain any details regarding a timetable for the Black Spider-Man series, but it’s not like fans will ever experience a Spidey-related drought as they await his arrival. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hits theaters June 2 and its sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-VerseIt is already scheduled for March 2024. Kraven the hunterstarring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the lead role, will be released in theaters on October 6 and lady of the web (with Dakota Johnson) and the death (along with Bad Bunny) both have release dates set for early next year.

And while we don’t know when we’ll see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we certainly don’t expect it to be more than two or three years away yet (stay up to date with all the MCU projects in progress with our movie guide in exit). Wonder).
