Freeze Corleone returns with a new album, 3 years after accusations of anti-Semitism

The rapper whose previous project the phantom menace who had been the target of accusations of anti-Semitism is about to release a new album, according to his manager.

Three years after the eventful launch of his last album the phantom menace (LMF), rapper Freeze Corleone is about to return to music. As stated by él Shone’s manager on Twitter, the 30-year-old artist is currently working on a new project, the release date of which has yet to be announced.

“They don’t even know… Freeze’s next album is going to be terrible. I forgive them they don’t know but that makes sense…” Shone tweeted Wednesday night.

Discreet solo since 2020, Freeze Corleone, however, has been prolific performing with other artists such as SCH, Zuukou Mayzie, Central Cee or even Rim’K in recent months. In 2022, the rapper also released a joint project, Riad Sadioa duet with the artist Ashe 22.

Investigation closed without follow-up

In 2020, when their first album was released, the phantom menace – in reference to Star Wars – Hailed by the rap crowd and certified double platinum, Freeze Corleone has faced accusations of anti-Semitism from the International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism for some of their songs.

In excerpts from his clips broadcast on social networks and compiled in particular by Lycra, the rapper declared among other things: “I arrive determined like Adolf in the 30s”, “every day RAF (nothing that matters to me, editor’s note ) of the Shoah” or even “like the Swiss bankers, all for the family so that my children live as retired retirees”.

At the time, this controversy had provoked the reaction of several majority deputies, including Gérald Darmanin, then Minister of the Interior, and the Paris prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation for “provocation to racial hatred” and “racist insult”. September 2020, before being fired a year later.

As a result, Freeze Corleone had been removed by his label, Universal, and several of the rapper’s songs had been temporarily removed from certain platforms, such as YouTube or Deezer.
