Starting out as an acting duo who were also A-list screenwriters, Academy Award winners Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are a pair of friends who are virtually inseparable. While they only bonded as a writer/actor duo with Ridley Scott the last duel, neither had directed the other on screen. That’s about to change, though, thanks to Affleck and Damon’s reunion for the 2023 new movie release Airwho sees the children’s party director supervising his friend for the first time.

It’s not just about jokes exchanged by Oscar winners and famous artists Air. The story of a cobbler’s search for a killer product intertwines with the fashion and hair choices of the 80s. Thanks to the efforts of executive Sonny Vacarro to create a new shoe around the fantastic debutant that was Michael Jordan, the inspiration and commerce would take the company to the top it is today.
Air was announced last spring, with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck slated to play Vaccaro and Phil Knight, respectively, the pair who helped create Air Jordans at Nike. Affleck’s film will also star Academy Award winner Viola Davis as Deloris Jordan, Michael’s mother, and round out the cast with Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans and Chris Tucker.
Ben Affleck’s move to Amazon Studios isn’t all that surprising considering he starred in the George Clooney-directed drama in 2021. the tender bar. Now that he’s wandering the field to direct and co-star with Matt Damon, it seems this particular circle of collaborators is getting ever closer to a new home. Although, unlike previous projects, Air it gets a little more traditional with its exit strategy.
Air will debut, only in theaters, on April 5th. Although, of course, the eventual streaming home of the Ben Affleck-directed film will be the court of Amazon. So those of you with a Video Prime Membership you’ll have to wait a little longer, knowing that when the time comes, you’ll be ready to air.
