Buzz Lightyear himself reacted to the news that the toy story The franchise will continue to go “to infinity and beyond” following the news that a fifth film is on the way. That’s right, Disney has announced a list of including suites Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, AND Zootropolis 2 . Then, to celebrate his return to the toy world, Tim Allen posted how excited he was to once again voice the iconic Space Ranger.
Allen, who has played Lightyear since 1995, posted an emotional message peek when he toy story 5 the news was announced. She noted that she would soon be seeing her friend Tom Hanks as Woody and added a photo of Andy’s legendary birthday present:

I know I’m very excited to see Allen and Hanks again as our favorite animated cowboy and astronaut. However, I have to admit I’m a little surprised, considering the end of toy story 4, it seemed that the toys had come off. However, with this announcement and Allen noting that she’ll be seeing his friend soon, clearly these two are inseparable and will be having another fling for years to come.
This news comes later rumors spread it toy story 5 Hanks appeared to dispel the rumor, saying that because he and Allen have worked together for decades, they are friends and sometimes have lunch together. Well, that meal may have just been a meal, but the rumor proved true when Disney announced its slate of upcoming sequels.
Along with Tim Allen and Tom Hanks, I’m curious to see what other cast members will join OG Toys. I imagine we’ll see the return of Annie Potts’ Bo Peep, along with other classic toys like Joan Cusack’s Jessie and Wallace Shawn’s Rex. Who knows, maybe some of the more recent additions like Keanu Reeves’ Duke Caboom, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jordan Peeles’ Ducky and Bunny will also return.

Though I can’t wait to see what Buzz and Woody do toy story 5, we may have to wait a while for our favorite toys to get back into action.
