While promoting a documentary he’s producing for Netflix, African Queens: NjingaJada Pinkett Smith returned, in an interview with the guardian about the episode of the slap that her husband, Will Smith, gave Chris Rock, in the middle of the Oscars ceremony, last year.

On this occasion, the disease he suffers from, alopecia, has become a hot topic. Just like Will Smith’s gesture, which earned him a lot of criticism and a brake on his career. When asked what he learned from the worldwide scandal surrounding his physical transformation and

“I learned a lot about detachment. And I learned a deeper beauty within myself, to be able to let my hair down.”

He also talks about the difficult moments he lived through when he was diagnosed with his illness.

“Difficult and Scary”

“It was difficult and scary because black women identified so much with our hair. And it was terrifying. I had to dig deep and see my own beauty beyond aesthetics.”

It was on the night of March 27, 2022 that the event occurred. In the middle of the Oscars ceremony, Will Smith took the stage to slap Chris Rock, for a joke about how Jada Pinkett Smith looked compared to Demi Moore in the movie an equal arms by Ridley Scott.
