Fans called Netflix Head Honcho after saying the Streamer “never canceled a hit show.” Now the data proves they were right.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos sadly said that the the streamer has never canceled a hit show , and fans of shows canceled after just a season or two were furious. Many were surprised by these comments, pointing out that many shows they thought were popular were canceled early. However, a new study shows that what the Netflix boss said has merit.

A study conducted by online casino analyzed data from three shows that Netflix recently canceled. It showed the number of seasons, the number of weeks Netflix Top 10 and the total number of hours watched in the Netflix Top 10. The three programs mentioned were Destiny: the Winx saga, resident Evil AND raise Dione. To break this data down:

  • Destiny: the Winx saga had two seasons, spent seven weeks in the Top 10, and had trending 190,790,000 watch hours.
  • resident Evil had one season, spent three weeks in the Top 10, and had a trending 173.4 million watch hours.
  • raise Dione had two seasons, spent seven weeks in the Top 10 and had 172,870,000.

For reference, although it took some time Netflix to renew Wednesday amassed more than 341 million watch hours in one week and last summer Strange things’ the fourth season quickly broke records accumulating 286,790,000 watch hours during the first three days on the platform. The three shows mentioned above don’t even come close to the total hours watched for shows like the Addams family divided, Strange things and other megahits like squid game AND Bridgerton.

Although this data proves Sarandos point of view, there are still fans who fight him and campaign for the return of their favorite show. This is especially true for warrior nun and the #SaveWarriorNun movement . They Fans of Alba Baptista’s show screamed loudly Statement by Sarandos, which underlines all the commitment and affection that the show has received. However, it should also be noted that even though this show was canceled after two seasons, like the ones mentioned above, it was not part of the studio.

This new study shows that Sarandos was right that he didn’t cancel hit shows. Still, I guess fans of the shows like them Destiny: the Winx saga and others are still furious that their favorite series aren’t on Netflix.

It’s a shame to think how many shows Netflix has canceled, however, to stay afloat, not everything can keep up. Which unfortunately means that there are a lot of shows that won’t be greenlit for new seasons.

To see what’s coming for Netflix, be sure to check out the TV show 2023 and if you want to watch the shows mentioned in this story, you can with a Netflix subscription .
