Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger recently surprised everyone with a major announcement regarding the slate of upcoming disney movies , which includes three upcoming sequels to fan-favorite franchises. According to the principal boss, House of Mouse is developing three new follow-ups to beloved properties. Frozen, zootopia AND toy story. While the exciting news has been positively received by some fans, I’m honestly surprised by the negative thoughts so many people have regarding the approval of toy story 5.
The executive made the sequel’s exciting announcements during the company’s quarterly earnings call. When news broke of a fifth film arriving in the beloved toy franchise for smart kids, the less enthusiastic turned to the Chirping be heard. A named user was all for Zootopia 2 AND frozen 3 but it was not for toy story 5:
Zootopia 2: Sure, why not? There are many other stories to tell in this universe. Frozen 3: Surprisingly, that idea doesn’t bother me. Another person on the social media platform agreed. They felt the toy gang had been through enough and that a fifth outing was less than necessary:

However, another story made up a good argument for the series ending with the third film. The commentator says so Story of the toy 3 had the “perfect ending” and was the highest rating the franchise was expected to leave:

However, someone else pointed out the double standard of some anime fans. When DreamWorks has announced a fifth installment for Shrek , The internet seemed all about it, but when it comes to another installment in the Pixar franchise, they haven’t:

A fifth film may seem superfluous to some, but it was a similar sentiment shared with the announcement of the fourth film. and lately, toy story 4 it was a box office success . Not only that, but the The Pixar film received critical acclaim , especially for a story that, while perhaps some viewers thought they didn’t need to tell, was worth telling and a worthy successor to the previous installments. So maybe the opinion of the netizens will change when they finally see the next film in the series.
There are currently no known details about the plot of the upcoming film. But even if we have already seen goodbye woody and buzzing twice , it would seem that, at least, Tim Allen will be back to voice Lightyear. Sure, the series has introduced a plethora of new characters and may even explore their adventures, but for now, we’ll just have to speculate.
