It goes without saying that Harrison Ford is one of the greatest action stars of all time. Having spearheaded film franchises such as Indiana Jones AND Star Wars, has one of the most memorable faces in cinematic history. Let’s be honest, it seems almost everyone has a memory of a film directed by Ford. However, the 80-year-old entertainer sometimes lauds the talents of his peers and recently praised another one-of-a-kind action star of his own: Tom Cruise.
They Fugitive The star opened up about his two new streaming series and his long acting career during a profile with the Hollywood Reporter. When the conversation turned to the stunts the actor needed to perform for more technical action scenes, Tom Cruise arrived. Harrison Ford obviously has a great admiration for the Jerry Maguire star and how he approaches his physically intense job. Ford said:
I like Tom. We’re talking about flying. But he is much more involved in the physical game than me. He doesn’t mind running, jumping, falling, rolling on the floor with sweaty guys. Tom takes it to a whole new level which is pretty amazing.
It’s a huge compliment to be told off by Harrison Ford, especially for the stunt work. The man is a legend and has been involved in some of the most iconic action sequences of all time. In general, Ford and his 60-year-old colleague have a lot in common. Not only have they starred in massive film franchises, but they are also some of the bankable stars in cinematic history. Also, they both love to fly planes. Tom Cruise has been flying for years and has even flown many jets Top Gun: nonconformist. Ford also has its own pilot’s license and likes to get up in the air during its downtime.
Like his friend, Harrison Ford’s acting career is still incredibly active. They Hunting prizes star icon in two streaming series. He plays a therapist in the Apple TV+ comedy series. Contraction. The Hollywood veteran also stars opposite Helen Mirren in 1923which is another prequel series to the hit western series yellow stone. (Famed showrunner Taylor Sheridan is also behind the project.) So while Ford isn’t jumping airplanes or riding motorcycles off cliffs, she’s always busy.
As for Tom Cruise, the active star can’t be stopped, and as Ford said, he always takes stunt work to a whole new level. The trailer of his next film, Mission: Impossible – Mortal Judgment Part 1It looks action packed and his promotion for the movie was amazing. Also, his most recent film, top gun: nonconformist, it ended up being the biggest financial success of Cruise’s career. It’s nice to see it and Air Force One star continues to thrive and it’s also great that at least one of them recognizes the other’s abilities.
