FBI is finally back on CBS for season 5, and all signs point to the team facing a massive threat even to its veteran standards in the new season premiere. Hit Drama Returns after Season 4 ends without throwing away its intended end , in the light of a real tragedy. Based on what actor Zeeko Zaki (who played OA from the start) shared with Gossipify about what’s to come, FBI he won’t miss a beat … even with Maggie still off duty.
The premiere of the fifth season on September 20 is titled “Hero’s Journey” and will see the team deal with the huge problem of a huge bomb probably in the wrong hands. While fans will have to wait and watch to see all the details, the episode’s description is quite different from that described by actor Jeremy Sisto. for the end of season 4 which never aired.
Speaking with Gossipify, Zeeko Zaki asked if Season 5 will pick up where it left off or if it starts with a clean slate. Apparently, this will have a “different” beginning, as he shared:
I think the real wolf [Entertainment] In fashion, previews are always very important and our episodes don’t connect or stretch. So I think, from what I can hear, it’s not a blank slate. We arrive in the middle of an investigation, a little different and exciting. It’s going to be a really, really nice way to bring everyone back into the world and remind everyone of the purpose and all the different things we’re dealing with. I think it will be exciting. [episode] and show the health of the series and re-enter it. But it’s definitely a really good episode, and a lot of really good things that tie a lot of things together, details or not. So we’ll see.
FBI tends to be one of Wolf Entertainment’s more procedural series, unlike Law and order: organized crime as a more serialized program. Fans clearly won’t miss any major plot details just because of the season 4 finale without the expected ending, and the “different” start to season 5 is something to be excited about.
Cases usually start with the criminals from the episode breaking the law, then the FBI team begins their investigation. This time the episode will continue with the ongoing investigation and the official description reveals that there will be an undercover operation. Zaki previewed what’s going on with OA’s undercover work:
The undercover opportunity we have in this episode has been really exciting for me as an actor and character. I have to take off my tie and jacket and put on some funny glasses. It’s really nice to be able to lean on that and the rest of the Mission: Impossible energy when we start in the middle of an investigation and everyone is catching up. It’s a little refreshing to start like this, a little different from traditional briefings and missions, and go that way. So hopefully it’s like we never left and came back.
What better way to start a season than to be “back” with the team? Although the agents have since had to work without Maggie. was exposed to sarin gas in the second half of season 4 (so that actress Missy Peregrym could go on maternity leave), they managed to carry on the good fight.
Nina Chase’s arrival at Shantel VanSanten to fill Maggie’s vacancy certainly helped, but OA hasn’t had her lifelong partner yet. He became a leader towards the end of season 4 without Maggie, so how does he fare without her as season 5 progresses? Zeeko Zaki shared:
It definitely holds up, which is very good. I think the fun for me as OA was, you know, how is she going to direct when Maggie is gone? And I think we just explore the simplicity of a good leader providing space for others to lead and things like that. So hopefully the team’s energy is really what it feels like to run the show. I feel like they all really have a lot of weight and it should be consistent and all together and all there, and we’ll see.
Missy Peregrym confirmed this will return in the fifth season but in the meantime OA and the rest of the team can continue solving cases. FBI mixed pairings during Season 4 to show how the different characters worked together instead of always sticking with OA / Maggie and TIff / Scola. Nina Chase has integrated into the team dynamics and will be staying at least a little bit longer. according to the actress .
