Warning! The following contains spoilers for the Mandalorian episode “Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore”. So read at your own risk!
Enter the Mandalorian Season 3, we knew things were going to be tense between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze given the events of the Season 2 finale. And that proved to be the case in the first and second episodes of the new season. But as they traversed the mines of Mandalore in the latter, it seemed they were starting to respect each other. Things are complicated between them, but the relationship between Bo-Katan actress Katee Sackhoff and Mando himself, Pedro Pascal, is a little different. Sackhoff ironically revealed how Pascal “disturbs” her and Pascal might agree.
Gossipify met Katee Sackhoff ahead of season 3 of the Mandalorian and I got some thoughts from her about what it’s like to work with Pedro Pascal. Sackhoff wasn’t afraid to be honest with us, but his statement might give fans some amusing and mixed signals about his stance on Pascal:
You shouldn’t be so beautiful. I mean, it’s like that’s the point. What worries me most about Pedro is that you shouldn’t be nice. You know, you shouldn’t be humble. Shouldn’t you be understanding, generous and funny. For example, you can’t have everything. That’s why I hate it. I hate that!
Katee Sackhoff has uttered the slyest insults I’ve heard in a long time, perhaps to indicate that she has no issues with her co-star in the Mandalorian. At least not what she’s willing to publicly admit on a red carpet anyway. Personally, I wouldn’t blame her if she was secretly upset that Din had the Darksaber instead of the Bo-Katan, because she’s clearly much better at using it.
Of course, I’m kidding in suggesting that there’s genuine animosity between the two. Star Wars actors As everyone can see in the following video, the Battlestar Galactica alum is all smiles and leaves no trace of genuine anger in our interview with her, which will surely be music to her colleague’s ears:
the Mandalorian fans can only hope that somehow Din and Bo-Katan can become as friendly as Katee Sackhoff and Pedro Pascal appear to be. It seems their connection grew a little stronger in the mines of Mandalore, as they both discover that there is truth to both perspectives from which they view the planet they love.
Bo-Katan may believe that the Coven of Din and “The Way” contributed to Mandalore’s downfall, but his modernist visions of the planet also appear to be in question for the foreseeable future. (I mean, are we going to see the Mythosaur show up in Season 3 and help Din rally the people of Mandalore?)
Furthermore, there is still the question of who is best suited to lead Mandalore. While Din controls the Darksaber, he clearly lacks the proper training to use it. And while Bo-Katan appears to be much more experienced, he has lost the following he had when Din obtained the weapon.
Perhaps the Mandalorian seek out Bo-Katan and Din to reunite the Mandalorians scattered across the galaxy. It would be a sight to behold, but only time will tell if it works. In the meantime, I’m glad to hear more funny comments from Katee Sackhoff or Pedro Pascal about their relationship. I’m sure Sackhoff could conjure up more hilariously sweet reasons why his colleague “cares” here, with Pascal getting the praise in return.
