“The house of the dragon”: the series derived from “Game of thrones” continues to break records

The spin-off of the hit HBO series has enjoyed exponential success since it began streaming in late August.

Successful bet for HBO. The American channel, which has been broadcasting since August dragon House, a series derived from game of Thronessees its audience increase week after week, reports the magazine variety.

The fifth episode, available since Monday, drew 3% more viewers in the United States than the fourth. Each episode currently has around 29 million views.

If this success continues, house of the dragon could become as popular as game of Thrones. Episodes from the eighth and final season were watched by an estimated 44 million people each week in 2019.

The series divides critics

King Viserys 1st Targaryen must choose an heir to succeed him on the throne. While his brother Daemon is the ready successor, his daughter Rhaenyra enters the race and, in the background, civil war is brewing.

If the series seduces the public, it divides the critics. Some see it as a “brilliant hit”, others as a “low-end version of got“. house of the dragon It has already been renewed for a second season.

Director Miguel Sapochnik, showrunner of the series, announced a few weeks ago his decision to leave the series. Director Alan Taylor (The sopranos, game of Thrones), was selected to sign season 2.
