John Wick: Chapter 4 it has its star Keanu Reeves making loads of it amazing action stunts , which includes learning a reverse 180 degree turn and drift while reloading a prop cannon and shooting the gate in a major scene in Paris, France. It’s mostly martial arts fights! But did you know that if Wick is right-handed, the actor is left-handed? That’s right, Reeves does a lot of tricky tricks as an early leader with his non-dominant hand! And there’s an incredible reason why that is.
Chad Stahelski appeared on the ReelBlend Podcasts , where he discussed the character of John Wick and the fourth installment of the fan-favorite action franchise. It was during the conversation that Stahelski revealed which hand he prefers to his protagonist. In his words:
You know, actually, Keanu is left-handed. We are both left handed. We shoot to the left, but we also shoot to the right. And Keanu, the whole movie, is going well. So if you go back and watch, I dare you to try… Because he is ambidextrous in the film.
Talk to ReelBlend host Kevin McCarthy and Jake Hamilton about the latest movie, the stuntman turned director also explained why they made the decision to make Reeves’ action figure right-handed despite his favored hand. And if I’m being honest, the reasoning is too perfect. As Stahelski continued:
We thought it would be great when it transitioned to the left hand. So if you watch the nunchaku fight, you will see it. Again, you’re doing the close-up of the switch, let’s not do that. But because, in the middle of the fight, you’ll see him change hands, he’s completely ambidextrous in the film.
Once again, Keanu Reeves proves he is a true Hollywood legend. Finally, in a breathtaking scene from John Wick: Chapter 3 the character suffered a wound in his left hand leading to a lot of CGI work that needs to be done in her dominant hand. During Stahelski’s interview in ReelBlendrevealed that the story decision led to a “major debate” with Lionsgate, who didn’t think a fourth film was going to happen.
To maintain continuity that Wick no longer has a ring finger, 600 VFX shots were added John Wick: Chapter 4. When asked if he regretted the decision for the third film, the director shared that he still thought it was a “great choice” and actually gave some of the VFX guys hands-free ring finger statues to commemorate. all of this. watch in full ReelBlend Podcast episode with interview below:
The latest installment hits theaters this weekend after receiving rave reviews from critics. Just Gossipify jeans wick 4 revision was also positive, with Eric Eisenberg giving the film 4.5 out of 5 stars and stating that it “earns every second of its epic runtime”, 11 minutes less than three hours after its release. first cut nearly four hours .
Of course now we are looking for John Wick: Chapter 4We’ll see a lot more Keanu Reeves hands to see when using his left and right hands without his magic finger, and the VFX team worked hard to maintain continuity. Gotta love the effort put into by everyone involved!
