Disney released the trailer for its animated Christmas movie on Wednesday. Avalonia the strange journey. This film is directed by Don Hall and Qui Nguyen, who have already signed Raya and the last dragon last year.
Avaloniasome scenes of which were revealed in June at the Annecy festival, portrays a family of legendary explorers, the Clades, who discover an uncharted and threatening land, populated by fantastic creatures…
The film follows three generations of the same family “whose differences could derail their last and, by far, their most important mission”, warns the official synopsis of Disney, who wants to keep certain elements of the plot secret until the premiere of ‘ Avalonia’.
Directly on Disney+
“Avalonia is a nod to ‘Pulps’, those collections of popular comics printed on cheap paper that flourished on newsstands in the first half of the 20th century”, explains Don Hall in a press release evoking his inspirations for this new journey.
“I loved reading old issues of ‘Pulps’ growing up. There were great adventures where a group of explorers could discover a hidden world or ancient creatures. They were a great source of inspiration for Avalonia.”
Avalonia the strange journey, which opens in US theaters on November 23, does not yet have a release date in France. The film will stream directly on the Disney+ streaming platform.
