From its strong start to its wild end, cobra-kai Season 5 delivered some great moments that will have fans arguing until Season 6 arrives, and they definitely should. Of course, because this season has been so intense and action-packed, fans may be missing out on some of the really fun moments that helped balance things between the more emotionally intense sequences. One of those lighter moments was Chozen’s nude scene, for example, which Yuji Okumoto recently talked about.
Yuji Okumoto, who returned as Chozen Toguchi and had arguably the best performance in season five, spoke with uh on the funny scene. In it, Amanda LaRusso made her way to the family pool to be greeted by a naked Chozen. Okumoto recalled how she reacted when he first read the scene in the script, which led to a rather apt request:
when I saw it [in the script]I was like, ‘Oh my God, really? Do I have to show my butt to the camera? I said, ‘I don’t know if you want to see an old man’s butt. Maybe you should ask someone else to do it.
The cobra-kai The actor later confirmed that he has a “twin sister” for the scene in question. So, for the record, anyone who has a netflix subscription who watched Season 5 and thought they saw Yuji Okumoto’s tuckus on their TV screen, they were fooled by some Hollywood magic.
The actor then talked about the nude scene, made even more fun by Amanda’s surprised reaction to seeing her character wrapped up. Karate Kid part II The student also revealed that he had a tip to make the scene even more fun, but they shot him:
really wanted [Chozen to be holding] a small towel, and instead they gave me a bigger towel. It would have been fun if she had held this face towel in her hand.
I agree that Chozen holding a smaller towel would have been more comically fun, but perhaps too bold for this kind of show. cobra-kai It features a lot of tense action, but it’s not exactly the type of show known for showing its characters completely (or nearly) naked. Interestingly, the showrunners avoided crossing the “tipping point” in other respects. For example, they chose not to have Chozen die at the hands of Terry Silver.
Despite this, it certainly looks like the show can get a little more mature, especially if students end up traveling overseas to compete in the Sekai Taikai Tournament. However, I guess the nudity won’t be something producers will look to expand on as the show continues to dive into deeper territory. So with that, those who are really looking for nudity will have to settle for Chozen’s A + moment in season five.
If you haven’t already, stream all seasons cobra-kai on Netflix and think about the questions some of us have after season 5. Now is a great time to review while we wait for season 6, or the new one Karate Kid film that has nothing to do with the series.
