With its 13-episode first season, ABC Abbott Elementary School quickly entered the trophy stand dedicated to televisions great school plays of all time largely thanks to the the magical chemistry of the star set together. Not to mention the breadth of optimism steeped in the imagination of show creator Quinta Brunson, as well as that of her creative team. So it was a nice result when the second season of the series arrived. uploaded in 22 episodes , giving it a proper run from fall to spring to coincide with the real-world school year. So, abbot will be able to deliver some holiday episodes that Brunson says really cement ABC’s success in the sitcom genre.
when Abbott Elementary SchoolAt the superstar cast of Talking to Gossipify and other media prior to the Season 2 premiere, I asked Brunson how excited he was to be able to somehow reflect on the entire school year and how a holiday like Halloween would be incorporated into the storytelling. With a quick burst of contagious energy, he began his response by saying:
I am so excited to have so much room to play. I mean, you mentioned one of the key things that turned me on, that [is] we have vacation episodes. Which, for me, are just such a staple. You know, my favorite sitcoms from Family Matters to The Office have amazing vacation episodes, and they’re so specific and unique to that show. And I’m so excited to throw Abbott’s hat in the ring for our Christmas episode look. I am very excited. I just can’t talk about it. They are so far away. But you are! I just think I’m really … [makes growling sounds] – NOW I feel like we’re making a mark in the sitcom genre. [Laughs.]
For anyone who grew up with medium to heavy participation in 80s and 90s sitcoms, there are certain times of the year that could inspire the same kind of euphoria as a whimsical party. I absolutely share Quinta Brunson’s alleged preference for Halloween infused slices. show how Family matters Yes rosanna he regularly went out of his way for themed half an hour filled with costumed imagery and occasionally narratives with supernatural overtones. (Don’t say anything about The Simpsons‘Treehouse of Horror annual non-canonical eps.)
Hence his enthusiasm in bringing these types of classic episodes to Abbott Elementary SchoolThe playbook makes me even more convinced that season 2 will raise the bar in every way now that it’s drawing to a close. autumn television season truly. He continued, praising the Winslow family and Steve Urkel’s scariest episodes, saying:
I know people will say, “Well, you did it last year.” Hand. For me, doing these Christmas episodes is what matters. Now I feel like I can hang my hat next to Family Matters. The Family Matters Halloween episodes are just, I don’t know if you’ve seen them, but they are iconic and unreal televised. And I just wanted to deal with it the Abbott way.
If I had to guess, I’d bet on it Sheryl Lee Ralph, Emmy Award Winner would keep her fashion choices exquisite without delving into costumes, while Tyler James Williams would think too much of everything and go too far in the opposite direction. Although no one can surpass what William Stanford Davis’ Mr. Johnson brings to the table. How great it would be if they did Family matters guest star for it? Put this idea into the universe.
Although we can probably expect some Christmas cheer too Abbott Elementary SchoolIn the classrooms and hallways, among other recognition days, thematic episodes aren’t the only reason Quinta Brunson is so excited to get the 22-episode order. He can’t wait to tackle episodes that aren’t necessarily about anything. As she said:
And then we have more space to play. I think last year, for me, every episode had a point. I wanted to show people what we were capable of. This season, I feel like people know. So we can have a lot more fun, a lot more nonsense stories that still mean something, because I don’t think my room is capable of messing up. Sometimes I try to shake them off and say “Guys”. But we are doing a good job. We are very attached to this school and these characters. But I guess I should say “stories that don’t have that much weight and are just a good time”. And I’m so excited to do stuff like that.
Similar to how Halloween celebrations always become television highlights, some of the more classic sitcom episodes are also ones that deviate completely from the norm for one reason or another. Whether it’s a bottle episode that takes place entirely in the waiting room of a Chinese restaurant, or paintball wars full of giveaways, or one of many other examples, there’s nothing wrong with a television comedy. who just has fun doing it. Yes Abbott Elementary School it’s always a good time.
