2022 was a mixed bag for Brad Pitt. He achieved considerable box office success with the action comedy. High speed train while he’s still battling his ex-wife Angelina Jolie in court over numerous issues, including the ongoing cellar drama. In the midst of it all, Pitt found another creative outlet: sculpture. After keeping his work a secret, the Oscar-winning actor made his fine art debut and said he was inspired by what he had done wrong in past relationships.
The ap reported the High speed train star made her official debut as a potter at the Sara Hilden Art Museum in Finland. Pitt began creating ceramics and sculptures in 2017 after his tumultuous separation from Jolie. The movie star admitted that she is nervous and excited about presenting her work in public for the first time. While creating sculptural works, she revealed how she became a form of self-reflection for him after having had multiple high-profile relationships:
It’s about, you know, where did I go wrong in my relationships? Where did I go wrong? Where am I an accomplice?
Being creative in another medium allowed the Oscar-winning actor to channel his emotions. Creation in visual art promotes loneliness and reflection as the artist puts all of his emotions into his work. It looks like that’s what Brad Pitt achieved by going to his studio on a regular basis.
Since pottery is a lonely undertaking, the practice helped the 58-year-old actor remember his failures in any romantic relationship. Pitt talked about his work as a means of claiming ownership in any relationship:
It was born out of having what I really call a radical self-inventory, being really, brutally honest with myself and … considering who I might have hurt and the times I’ve been wrong.
His frankness was quite surprising. She wanted to face the mistakes of their relationship after years of running away from them. Given her ongoing divorce, it seemed Pitt wanted to channel her emotions into something creative. As the Hollywood star pointed out, he had to be brutally honest with himself and the sculpture was his creative outlet for him.
As part of his divorce from Jolie, the actor faced a strained relationship with his children. Despite the long intervals between visits, Pitt believes that someday he and his children will have a good relationship once they are older. That’s not to say the Hollywood star isn’t proud of them, like when her daughter Shiloh’s dance video went viral.
Outside of his marriage to Jolie, Pit has been linked to some notable Hollywood co-stars. He dated Robin Givens and Juliette Lewis in the late 1980s and early 1990s before bonding with his Seven co-star Gwyneth Paltrow. They dated from 1994 to 1997 before breaking up their engagement. He began dating Jennifer Aniston in 1998 before getting married in 2000. The two stars ended their relationship in 2005.
His beginnings as a sculptor don’t mean Brad Pitt put his illustrious film career on hold. The Oscar-winning actor will find once upon a time in hollywood co-star Margot Robbie in the costume film Babylon, which will be released in theaters on December 25th. He is planning another reunion with his Hollywood friend George Clooney in a thriller directed by Jon Watts, as well as a Formula 1 film for Apple TV +.
