After the FBI’s Scola makes a bold decision about his future as an agent, what kind of father will he be?

Spoilers ahead for the April 11 episode FBI on CBS, called “Obligation.”

CBS Officials FBI They’ve never been particularly confident investigating the worst of the worst federal cases in New York, but the recent run-in with Nina’s death nearly cost Scola the woman he loves and her unborn child. After his near-death experience in the global crossover event with FBI: International AND FBI: Most Wanted Last week, Scola was considering stepping back from the action and exploring options that could mean fewer life-and-death situations. Added to this is the question of what kind Father Scola would be. I hope Boyd can shed some light on this!

Will Scola withdraw from the action?

Unsurprisingly, there are consequences after what John Boyd described “the unforgivable breach of trust” when Jubal and Isobel covered up the truth that Nina was killed off in the crossover, but Scola didn’t fight back by holding a grudge against their bosses. Instead, she applied for a supervisory special agent position in the considerably more secure white-collar division. The special agent supervisor rank would have put him on par with Scott Forrester International and Remy Scott in it Most Wanted. Scola would initially only admit to Tiff that she was exploring his options, but later opened up more.

She told her partner that exploring her options was her idea, but Nina is also stepping back to have a more stable schedule. The episode also highlighted the dangerousness of the job, with Scola at one point literally ending up with blood on his hands and shooting someone who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, it could be said that she impaired her judgment, because she asked a pregnant woman to be overly careful when she used a wire… which turned out to be a good decision, but she didn’t know it at the time. !

Overall, she seemed to lean toward a more secure job, but after a conversation with a man who was facing jail time for backing out when he shouldn’t have, she decided to turn down the SSA job with White. . He told Tiff that it actually inspired his decision, even though working as a field agent isn’t the safest job in the world.

He told her that he loved his job and who he worked with, and that “you can’t just wave a magic wand and hope nothing bad ever happens.” She’s about to do her own thing and “hope for the best.” So Scola ultimately neither walks away from the action nor plays it safe, and fans could see a touching moment between the partners. This is a good sign FBI You don’t necessarily prepare for your exit, because it seemed possible in the fall and hopes to become a father without giving up his job as a field agent.

John Boyd shares his thoughts on Scola as a father

Scola is still ready to be a father now that Nina is on the mend and is looking for a more stable schedule. It doesn’t mean the future is going smooth just because you cleared up your future as an agent, e FBI It’s not filled with characters who have managed to strike a healthy balance between work and parenthood (See: Jubal Valentine although it can avoid one of your old demons in the crossover.) So what kind of father would Scola be? Speaking to Gossipify, John Boyd shared his thoughts:

This is a great question. I think Scola would be surprised at what it’s like to have a close relationship with his son. I don’t think Scola was incredibly close to father him. I think your father surrounded himself with money and success and wealth and beauty on the outside, and I don’t think he ever had that closeness. But I think what would surprise you as a parent is the closeness and intimate connection with your child, and the sweetness and tenderness of being a parent. [That] I hope you answer.

Scola is still a long way from forming a close relationship with his son, as Nina is yet to give birth, but it seems fatherhood may show a different side of Scola than fans have seen so far. That’s assuming the character stays in Season 6, of course! FBI along with the eight other shows in Wolf Entertainment’s television universe will return for the 2023-2024 television season, which raises big questions with star comments showing possible answers .

For now, I look forward to the next new episode of FBI (opens in a new tab) Tuesday, April 18 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, premiere FBI: International at 21:00 and FBI: Most Wanted at 10pm The season finales for all three are coming in May, but there are plenty of options in the 2023 TV premiere schedule so you can see when summer arrives.
