As the Chicago Police Department Continues Without Halstead, Jesse Lee Soffer Looks Back on 200 Episodes of the Series

Chicago Police hit a milestone that some shows last long enough to hit at the start of season 10, with episode 200 This especially put Burgess in the wringer . The show hit 200 episodes in a season that had already seen a lot of change thanks to the departure of Jay Halstead when he decided to go back into the military, much to the dismay (and without consulting) his wife. The crime drama continued without Jesse Lee Soffer on screen as a character, but returned to direct a recent episode . Speaking to Gossipify, she reflected on whether her long-running show has reached this milestone!

Though Halstead left Upton and Chicago for just a few episodes of Season 10, Soffer he didn’t leave Chicago Police lot before returning to start preparing for his directorial debut, and he had some advantages in spending as much time as the character . spend time in PS behind the scenes meant he was on set for the 200th episode even though Halstead didn’t show up, and he shared what it was like to be on hand for key filming:

It was great. It was amazing. It’s a great testament to the cast and crew. I think we have the hardest working team in the business, just for the conditions we’re in, and the schedule is so exhausting at times to produce these episodes, 20 of them, 22 of them a year. They all deserve a lot of credit for ten seasons. It’s proof that everyone is working hard, including the producers and writers. They all are. It’s impressive.

It is a rare program that lasted just enough for ten times (and counting) and more than 200 episodes, and much less with the production tests of COVID that shortened the seventh time and made it that it was supposed to be a normal episode in the season finale. Jesse Lee Soffer knows the hard work better than anyone Chicago Police for many years, and the recent restructuring (celebrated by PS by LaRoyce Hawkins ) means the action will continue throughout the 2023-24 TV season.

Whether or not Halstead will appear as part of Season 11 of the 2023-2024 TV season is an entirely different question, and not quite resolved by how. PS said goodbye to the character in the first half of the season. At the time, he had every intention of returning to Upton at some point, but a more recent episode revealed that he he extended his stay in the military without telling her let alone ask.

Jesse Lee Soffer explained how how he feels when asked if he will return as Jay Halstead but only time will tell if PS fans see it again. Even after the renewals of the three One Chicago shows (as well as the three FBI and three Law series), there are big questions surrounding the future of Wolf Entertainment’s television universe, with comments from some stars that might shed some light on the answers . As for the actor-turned-director who was present behind the scenes on the 200th episode, former co-star Marina Squerciati shared a look at instagram :
