Titans Showrunner Says Final Season Announcement ‘Didn’t Break Anything’, Shares Hope We’ll See These Characters In New DC Universe

When the first half of the titans Season 4 wrapped up last December, there was still a chance the show would get a fifth season. Then, a month later, it was announced that he and destiny patrol they were running out, so now there are only six episodes left titans to strive. However, showrunner Greg Walker with Gossipify shared that this final season announcement “didn’t break anything” when it came to Season 4’s storyline, while also sharing his hope to see these iterations of the characters in the new DC universe.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Walker ahead of the Season 4 mid-season premiere, which will include “Caul’s Folly” and “Dick & Carol & Ted & Kory.” Before we start talking about these episodes that HBO Max subscribers will be able to stream starting tomorrow, I asked the showrunner when he found out this would be the show’s last season and if that meant any major changes needed to be made. to the way condolences season 4 He replied:

From the beginning, we thought we wanted to write it as if it were [the last season], so the news and how it happened and when it happened wasn’t as important as our plan. So it didn’t interrupt anything. I mean, it broke season 5 [laughs], for sure, but we really knew we had an opportunity to do something special here with the whole team and have these transformation arcs waiting for some people, especially Gar, obviously, and to go somewhere new. with Superboy. And then, of course, going with Dick and Kory to a place that the fans were asking for and that we always had a plan for. We thought, ‘We should do this now.’ We set it up in season 3 with a lot of omens and prophecies and visual easter eggs to play where we were going, but we were able to afford it this season.

So even if titans Season 5 was slated, however Greg Walker and his team approached Season 4 like it was the last hurrah. No doubt they could have made the necessary changes had the show been allowed to continue, but as things have turned out, at least fans can count on the effective closure of the various plot threads currently at play in the game, seasonally different. 4 which ends with a moment of suspense or a look at a story we will never understand.

the announcement of titans AND destiny patrol The cancellation came just days before DC Studios execs James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled the DC Universe’s “Chapter One” slate, which thus far consists of five movies and five TV shows, all in the same continuity. However, there are also a handful of out-of-continuity DC projects that are still on or under the “Elseworlds” banner, so between that and the flash movie that dives into the multiverse later this year, there’s always a chance we could titans‘ main characters come back online. So when I asked Greg Walker if he would be willing to make that happen, he gushed:

Yes of course! I love these characters! I like the actors, I like the characters, I’m very attached to them. We were definitely prepared for a fifth season if that ever happened. If it’s not me, if it’s someone else, go with God. I would like to see them live. They are super funny, and what brilliant actors, [we were] blessed with this marv [Wolfman] and George [Pérez] he gave us and we could run with him. I’m just in a position of gratitude. If they want to do it, well, well done!

There was a lot to absorb in the first half of titans Season 4, from Titus Welliver’s brief outing as Lex Luthor to meeting Lisa Ambalavanar’s version of Jinx. By the time we were done with our leads on “Brother Blood,” Joseph Morgan’s Sebastian Sanger had completed the ritual to become the episode’s namesake, and Jinx was sadly killed by Mother Mayhem. However, all the main heroes mysteriously disappeared during the battle, although in the case of Beast Boy he asked to be taken to the third Red Robin and show him some sort of crossover with star girlwhich ended last December.

end titans Episodes air Thursdays on HBO Max (opens in a new tab), but once that’s over, there’s still plenty of DC TV shows to come to keep superhero fans entertained. Our 2023 TV Schedule is also available for you to read if you’re curious about what other shows are currently airing.
