Line Renaud reaffirms its commitment to euthanasia. The 94-year-old actress, who signed a platform in August 2022 in the sunday newspaper asking for the legalization of active assistance when dying, explains in paris party wants to decide on his death.
“All this has to be happy. I want to leave a relaxing image. My friends want me to leave without suffering,” says the actress, who will appear in a Life telefilm at the end of May.
“I will skirt the law!”
He recalls the trauma of watching loved ones die “in excruciating pain,” when “hospice care no longer had any effect on them.” Line Renaud says that she wants to die at home:
“In my bed with my Pirate dog by my side… if he’s still alive! I’ll pet him, ask him to come to me and he will come to me. I’ll be surrounded by all my loved ones, who I’ll talk to.”
“I will leave here! If the suffering passes, I will evade the law!” Line Renaud insists again, before specifying that at home “we know how to do” euthanasia: “It is decided: without the law, I will die in resistance.”
“I love life”
Line Renaud says that she is not afraid of death: “Death is the companion of life, this should be taught in school.” She thus specifies that her joy of living remains “intact, immense”: “I love life and it gives it back to me”.
Nearing her 95th birthday, which she will celebrate on July 2, Line Renaud no longer does the math, she laughs. “I know I’m getting close to the moment, but that doesn’t bother me. And I don’t plan on giving up anytime soon!”
