“Yes, it bothers me”: Blanche Gardin refuses to participate in the game “LOL: who laughs, comes out!” streamed on amazon

In a text published on his Facebook page, the comedian revealed that he had been offered 200,000 euros for a day of filming. What she rejected in relation to Amazon’s practices.

“Very very dear Mr. Bezos.” In a text posted on her Facebook page, comedian Blanche Gardin revealed that she had been offered to participate in the game “LOL: whoever laughs, comes out!” for a day of filming she paid 200,000 euros. She offered that she declined, in connection with Amazon’s practices, which streams the game on its Amazon Prime platform.

“Yes, it annoys me to play, for 8 hours of work, this maddening sum,” he wrote, adding that “the charity of my choice would win €50,000, that is four times less, and again, only if I win.” .

Unpaid taxes in France, greenhouse gases…

More widely, Blanche Gardin explains that her refusal to participate in “LOL: who laughs, comes out!” It is justified by various practices that she attributes to the multinational Amazon.

In his publication, he thus denounces that the company owned by Jeff Bezos “does not pay its taxes in France”, that it emits “55.8 million tons of greenhouse gases per year”, that it “uses labor from the fields of Uyghur concentration”. or that “the jobs he creates by destroying others are exhausting jobs in dehumanized warehouses.”

“All this for what? So we can order cheap diapers from our sofa,” he continues.

The threat of platforms for cinema

Finally, Blanche Gardin believes that participating in a program broadcast on a streaming platform would be like “shooting yourself in the foot”.

“I do not want that in ten years nobody goes to the movies and that we are all watching series on the sofa having hamburgers delivered by undocumented immigrants who are pedaling in the rain,” he writes.

The program “LOL: who laughs, gets out!”, whose third season premiered on March 10, is based on the following concept: for six hours, actors and comedians are locked together, with a formal ban on laughing. Those who do not respect this rule are eliminated. Personalities such as Leïla Bekhti, Adèle Exarchopoulos or even Jonathan Cohen participated in the program.

Blanche Gardin, leave a note of hope for the producers of the show. If upon reading his post, Jeff Bezos completely reinvented his business, “then maybe you could invite me over later. And I might accept. Lol.”
